My Little Pony: Bridlewoodstock – Partying And Even More Potential

How’s it going, everypony? This year marks the 40th anniversary of the My Little Pony franchise [31] [39]! The fifth generation of the beloved franchise began after the second season of My Little Pony: Pony Life in 2021 [39]. Even though the writing of the first special was not considered the best [5] [58] [59], it still provided a very important message that we should always stand by [44] [63] [64]. After a big difference, the story progressed with three post-restoration chapters, including a holiday special [11] [56] [57] [58] [59]. This week, two trailers are a fourth chapter of the fifth generation have been uploaded: one on YouTube featuring Sofia Wylie’s association and the other on Instagram [35] [38]. As our simmers are feeling sensual with the updated looks for Don Lothario and the Caliente family in The Sims 4and our mortal kombaters are already feeling feisty after the announcement of Mortal Kombat 1 [33] [52], our bronies and pegasisters are hyped in harmony for a music festival in Bridlewood [8] [35] [38]. Furthermore, let us tune into what a music festival and so on have to offer in the Lumi-Bloom of Bridlestock [11], aside from the ongoing hopes for a new season of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic that would basically be a revision of the ninth one [29] [45] [46] [47]. 

Who would have thought there would be a music festival in Bridlewood to make up for how depressed many unicorns were before a big difference occurred [8] [35] [38] [63] [64]? And who would have thought Tutter from Bear In The Big Blue House would grow up to be quite an aggressive Fortnite fighter [3] [51]? [38]

There is a new pony in the spotlight [35] [38]. Her name is Ruby Jubilee, which must ring a bell to plenty of British ‘80s and ‘90s kids and she is voiced by Sofia Wylie who is known for her role in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series as Gina Porter [9] [11] [43]. Her song featured in both trailers is called “Iconic”, yet despite how upbeat it is with quite a refreshing title, it might not be as iconic as “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley [1] [20] [35] [38]. As seen in the trailer on Instagram, there are also a few other musical acts, such as Electric Blue, a blue pegasus who is an electric guitar player [35]. Surely, there ought to be a little more to Ruby Jubliee than just the fact that she is a singer [9] [35] [38]. Perhaps she could befriend the other members of Mane Five besides Pipp Petals at some point, quite like how Roxxi befriended the four main Bratz in Bratz: Rock Angelz near its conclusion [4]? The Friendship Is Magic era may still be heavily preferred over the current one [42], but at least the role of Ruby Jubilee is not played by someone who is responsible for a travesty that does NOT represent autism and support for autistic people respectfully in the slightest [24] [28] [35] [38]. 

For a brief moment in the trailer on YouTube, Wylie is seen pointing at some concept art of Ruby Jubilee [38]. It looks like she helped the team choose a certain shade of pink as her final colour [9]. [38]

This starlet’s design is amazing and her name is highly likely to be symbolic of celebrating the 40th anniversary of the My Little Pony franchise [9], but deep down, a character’s overall portrayal is more important than their appearance. [9]

What new progressions await the Mane Five? Well, Sunny Starscout can be seen in her alicorn form at some point in the trailer on Instagram [35], but what could be a legitimate reason for it? Pipp Petals is delighted as she is the host of the show at the festival in Bridlestock [35] [38]. Well, she is one of the princesses of Zephyr Heights [56] [57] [58] [59]. Sparky Sparkeroni is once again being adorable as he appears to have his face painted in the trailer on YouTube [38]. I do not doubt that Izzy Moonbow will still be her peppy and energetic self and Zipp Storm will still be quite an athletic tomboy [5]. There seems to be no conflict present in either trailer [35] [38], but I guess keeping it out of the two trailers is for the sake of preventing spoilers. Fair enough but providing some form of conflict that could be caused by a new antagonist would be the key to providing some form of depth beyond the overly beaming harmony aimed at a younger audience of the films during the third generation [23] [41] [56] [57] [58] [59]. I may not be the best writer in the world, but maybe some small notable improvements in terms of storytelling can occur for some of us during new progressions of the Mane Five and so on [5] [23] [30] [50]. 

Good thing Sir Lancelot in his new armour from the Dragon Slayer Event in Sonic Forces: Speed Battle will not slay all dragons [49]. I wonder if there will suddenly be a new antagonist who might be the arch-rival of Ruby Jubilee and cause the special’s prime conflict, even though the competitive rival trope is rather clichéd and nothing new [13] [14]. [38]

The way the Mane Five hold up pink crystals simultaneously could be a sign of a conflict eventually being solved [38]. And aside from how I hope Misty Brightdawn will eventually live a happier life in a new supporting role instead of being an antagonist [10], I would be delighted to see some respectful, accurate and inspiring autism representation within the introduction of a new pony [32]. Could they be loosely based on Minty from the third generation, according to a certain fan theory [41]? [38]

Vowing to maintain the visual quality of the three previous specials [56] [57] [58] [59] [63] [64], the animation is vibrant and cartoony [35] [38], much like the animation in The Super Mario Bros. Movie [53]. I cannot help but be reminded of the Camp Adventure Llama and the Llama Music Party compact playsets from the current era of the Polly Pocket franchise when I see the ponies wearing various accessories, most notably flower crowns during the festival [17] [18] [35] [38]. Various objects being lifted by a magical aura, including a teapot and a flower crown is yet another sign of all three types of ponies celebrating in magical harmony [38]. I adore how the butterfly sculpture near the gaudy stage is designed and how a pony’s poof is nailed in glitter, considering how I like butterfly designs and I love nail art [35] [38] [60]. There is quite a large variety of colours during the festival, which can be a little distracting, but at least a lesson was learned from the unpleasant, scrambled messes from Problem Solverz [25]. Once again, the 3D animation is joyfully colourful [35] [38], as technologically groovy as Microsoft’s collaboration with OPI, which is basically a summery Xbox Series X|S controller with four bottles of nail varnish [6]. 

Party ponies are in the woods tonight [22]! Oh, wait, wrong song. [38]

Now that is one colourful and flashy stage that is quite like something in a modern Polly Pocket compact playset [17] [18] [19]! [38]

In conclusion, this forthcoming special might begin the fourth chapter of a fifth generation quite spectacularly on Netflix this June [8] [35] [38]. However, I understand that not every brony and pegasister is particularly fond of the fifth generation’s previous animated specials [23] [30], yet I still prefer to hold no bias with My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic [42]. As for the more mature side of animation, I shall buckle up for some horrifyingly thrilling action in the fourth episode of the second season of Helluva Boss this weekend [26]. Speaking of horrifying, our courageous security guards at Freddy’s better be safe than sorry once they finally get to see the official live-action Five Nights At Freddy’s film after about over eight years of its development [55]. As for the My Little Pony franchise, we may miss the Friendship Is Magic era, especially before Twilight Sparkle became an alicorn [27], but there is still a lot of potential for the current era to blossom within its fourth chapter during the celebration of the franchise’s 40th anniversary [31]. Moreover, in honour of the inspiring message in My Little Pony: A New Generation [63] [64], let us spread tolerance and equality, no matter how emotionally abusive a fraction of a fandom or a social platform would be and how angry we might suddenly get at many other issues [2] [7] [16] [21] [61] [62]. 

And about thirty-five more episodes of My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale will be released throughout the rest of 2023 [12] [37]! In the meantime, our fellow bronies and pegasisters are galloping in hype for a comic from IDW honouring the 40th anniversary of the My Little Pony franchise this July [31] [40]. If My Little Pony: Bridlewoodstock turns out to be another let-down for some bronies and pegasisters, the comic could make up for it. [40]

Wanna stick to the gritty and clickbaity AUs that were imagined during the Friendship Is Magic [54]? Go ahead! Anything artistic and imaginative in honour of the franchise’s Ruby Jubilee [9]! Keep being creative and so long for now, everypony [34] [48]! [38]
