The Fiendish Fifth Episode Of Helluva Boss

Greetings, all you sinners and hellborns of the Helluva Boss fandom. I still wonder how Lisa Cooper, my own Hazbin Hotel character will be allowed into Heaven after two new waves of plushies and some limited-edition pins became available to pre-order [55] [61]. Rumour has it that uncensored versions of the third and fourth episodes of the first season may be uploaded onto Newgrounds in association with a promotion soon [1] [41]. If so, then more power to the show that is so good it can be considered a sin. Since it has been about over a week since the release of the fifth episode of the first season [35], I shall voyage through it and analyse with all my might, loaded with ammo. After all, it is outstanding how it achieved over ten million views within three days. That is about another more chuck of my soul sold to Lucifer Magne, the ruler of Hell [22]. Despite how I am still the closest friend of Nergal from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy to this day [8], at least Lucifer would be kind enough to offer me a caramel apple…possibly whilst looking right at me with Kaa eyes [22] [52] [53] [54].

How the synopsis for each episode on the Hazbin Hotel Wiki is like, “When this premise occurs, things sure do happen.” is utterly brilliant [20]! Spoiler-free and totally witty! As much as I would love to attend a successor to High School Story or Hollywood U after celebrating the sweet sixteenth anniversary of Surviving High School [46] [47] [72] [73], I would love to see how the next season will continue to enrich the show’s legacy. [28]

We are all aware by now that Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are aimed at adults [48], so if you are under the age of eighteen, please do not review the series with me. [34]

What else can I say about the Immediate Murder Professionals now that I am reviewing episode número cinco? Let us start with Blitzy…I mean Blitzo! Well, he still shows up at Moxxie and Millie’s house without their consent [35], which was previously established in the pilot [36]. Nonetheless, he is still quirky and thirsty for action, making explicit remarks and taking part in a competition known as the “Pain Games” [35]. I thought that a new character was going to become a new member of his team when he took notice of his abilities. I really thought he was going to fall for his manipulation after he tries to stop him from doing such a foul deed [27]! This has led me to believe that he might genuinely care about a certain sexually deviant bird, although he said he just came to the rescue solely for access to the human world. I can see that he is still quite the brony, just like how Deadpool is very fond of unicorns [11] [12]. Surely he still loves his hellhound daughter very much, but who else would he sincerely care for in the near future of the show?

How Blitzo ultimately pretended to fall for a new villain’s persuasion is an interesting take on his character in a new episode. [35]

Aside from how cool he looks in his country outfit, we are yet to find out how he will face the real Fizzarolli after a duel with his robotic counterpart [19] [59] [60]. [35]

Millie’s excitement when it comes to a new assignment is adorable as always [35]. She looks absolutely amazing in her countryside outfit. To a degree, I know how she felt when she was refused the opportunity to compete in the Pain Games as I discovered some opportunities but got rejected from them. The way she consoles Moxxie after he gets injured is touching as she reminds him that he does not need her parents’ approval to maintain their unholy matrimony is heart-warming. It turns out that her full name is “Mildred”, which is an interesting addition to her backstory [28]. An insanely thrilling part of it would be how she caught a deadly bouquet at one of the brothers’ wedding before she got married to Moxxie, leading me to believe it must have been deadlier than the bouquet Princess Peach held as a bride in Super Mario Odyssey [43]. What would a team of animated brutes be without a little girl power? I wonder if there will be a reprise of “Oh Millie” from the pilot [36]. I strongly believe Millie would deserve it for being a noble spouse, as well as a self-empowered dame [35].

Hopefully in the sixth episode, Millie will be in one piece. [35]

The design of Moxxie’s Hellphone is pretty neat, along with how his ringtone is a reference to The Phantom of The Opera [28] [35]. He looks rather sophisticated in his countryside attire. He may have been a target for ridicule from his boss and father-in-law for how he is considered the “weakest” of the group, but how he at least tried to show his worth, despite his wife telling him he does not have to and how an injury motivates him into competing in the Pain Games was a whole new element of his character that was quite relatable to a degree. His near-death experience caused by a new character was chilling, but I felt relief when Millie came to the rescue once again. On a lighter note, it was pretty amusing how he mentioned the feeling he should have used his gun before his fight with the fiend. It sure was nice to see him not get seriously injured at the end of an episode, aside from how he kept getting attacked by a shark during the Pain Games. He and Millie have had some great additional character development in “The Harvest Moon Festival”, as well as an amazingly happy marriage [38] [39].

How Moxxie felt inferior compared to another new character is yet another empathetic part of his character. The way Millie’s parents disapproved of him marrying her somehow reminds me of how Mama Cosma hates Wanda in the Fairly Odd Parents series [13]. [35]

Aside from the further development of the hellishly married couple, we also see Wally Wackford once again as the host of the Pain Games [31]. I believe he could be hiding some new conning schemes behind this persona. [35]

After seeing a preview that was posted on Twitter back in April, Stolas made me question if he was cosplaying as Palpatine from the Star Wars franchise [30] [75]. It turns out that he had yet another…special session with the quirky hell of a boss [35]. Just look at the ball gag around his neck and how his wrists are tied together by a rope at the beginning of the episode. How kinky. Later on, he is seen in his regal royalty outfit from the pilot once again, sitting on a stool on stage and following his royal duties as one of the hosts of the Pain Games [31]. If he chose to let the hell of a boss go to try and stay faithful to Stella, the I.M.P. would be close to becoming bankrupt as Stolas is the one who has the book that lets the imps travel to the human world [34]. Nevertheless, there are other ways for a demon to gain such access, such as how Verosika and her pack of succubi were able to in “Spring Break” [62] [63]. It is great to see the lanky prince voice return with his seductive nature and alluring voice after his absence. His Voxtagram post featuring him checking out Blitzo’s behind is hilarious [16]! 

This particular scene reminds me of how Deadpool punishes me by handcuffing me if I tease him about what music he “likes” [62] [63] [74]. Apart from how Stolas’ vocabulary is sophisticated and Blitzo’s spelling is known to be terrible for advertising [57] [58], I bet they could be even closer in another episode. [35]

A new and refreshing aspect of Stolas’ character is how he is the co-host of the Pain Games who later curses the ring by the power of his book, meaning that he at least takes his royal duties seriously to a degree. [35]

There are two new imps who reside in a small ranch named “Lin” and “Joe” [32]. They are Millie’s parents, but it is a shame that they seem to disapprove of Moxxie due to a slipup he caused [35]. Another new imp within Millie’s family is Sallie May, her sister. She is quite the snarky one, huh? She appears to be a trans character [26], adding more to the LGBT representation of Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, much to my delight. There is some speculation that Rivet from Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart could be a trans character too [68] [69]. It is fascinating to see some new imp traditions outside of Imp City, including Millie’s family. How the training for an imp to evolve into a feisty fighter appears to be passed on from one generation to another with the way Lin and Joe raised Millie and her siblings as an example must be the reason why imps are considered the “lowest” in Hell’s society. The number of characters increasing in the first season is unmistakable but consistent as each new character has been introduced fittingly with their own traits [64] [65], providing memorability when it comes to remarkable writing.

Howdy, Lin and Joe! Too bad your son-in-law had to stand up for your little pumpkin spice eventually [28]. [35]

I would be delighted to see more LGBT representation in the near futures of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, including a little more transgender representation. [35]

A new imp in Hell outside of Millie’s family who makes his debut in “The Harvest Moon Festival” is no other than Striker [27] [35]. He sure is arrogant and menacing, provoking Moxxie into competing against him and not showing affection towards a fangirl who tried to get near him. It turns out that imps can even fight imps outside of the special events due to how Striker later tries to assassinate Stolas at Lin and Joe’s house. I could not believe he tried to strangle Moxie to death during a brawl and how he tried to convince Blitzo to join him and slay overlords in Hell instead of sinners on Earth. And I thought the mascots from those Kellogg’s Fruit Winders adverts known as the “Chewchat Gang” from the 2000s were sadistic [4] [5] [6] [7] [50] [51]. I am pretty sure that after Striker enjoys his stays at a motel that definitely does not consist of the same purpose as Hazbin Hotel, he will keep working alone as a possible freelancer. Am I the only one who ships him with Verosika due to how villainous they are [64] [65]? Well, grab me by the hair and dye it #b00b69 during any of my punishments in the Pride Ring [3].

Howdy, Striker! You seem like a feisty freelancer. There is a purdy succubus you might be interested in dating [64] [65]. [35]

Is the Goetia family still dysfunctional? I believe so! I was absolutely shocked to find out that not only did Striker escape…but has been hired by the wrathful Stella [27] [35]! Thank goodness Octavia was distracted by music from her MP3 player during their dinner time. I know that cheating on a partner is wrong but hiring someone to kill the cheater is just too extreme! Furthermore, the reason why Stolas was a target for murder could back up a theory that his wife had always been abusive, even before his infidelity with a class she does not approve of began. It is no wonder Stolas struggled to clearly explain why he cheats with Blitzo to his teenage daughter near the ending of “Loo Loo Land” [59] [60]. Moreover, I do not want to break the hearts of my fellow Hazbeans, but there is a possibility that Stolas could perish in a new episode as there are some lines in “You Will Be Okay” that build up a hint [29]. Nevertheless, there is a chance that he will be saved once again by his knight in hellish armour [59] [60]. On a lighter note, there is hope that Via could run her own spa someday after her eighteenth birthday [15].

I understand that getting cheated on is a terrible and heartbreaking experience, but seriously! It is not an excuse to want someone dead, even if the person is the cheater. Have we learned nothing from Mrs. Mayberry’s fate [34]? I mean, come on! Stella is not even thinking about how her daughter would feel about her father tragically dying! [35]

We finally get to see another ring in Hell, besides the Greed Ring from “Loo Loo Land” and the Pride Ring from the pilots of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss [23] [24]. For part of the Wrath Ring, the Western-themed setting seems quite chill, but only if there is no competitive tension [35]. The colour palette for the countryside is quite earthy, yet there are some more volcanic and hellish areas of the Wrath Ring under a reddened sky that is quite like the sky of the Pride Ring, but without a colossal pentagram [24]. I am suspecting that the sky of the Lust Ring would be a colour like indigo to match the colour palette shown in the trailer for the first season [57] [58]. Reflecting on how the Greed Ring’s sky is fittingly green as shown in “Loo Loo Land” [21] [59] [60], we can simply wonder what the prime colours and details of the other four rings will be, especially for the skies. Aside from how I know that a restaurant named “Ozzie’s” will be in the Lust Ring [23], I am more than curious to see what the Envy, Gluttony and Sloth Rings will be like [14].

Apparently, sinners from Hazbin Hotel are only allowed in the Pride Ring of Hell. Wouldn’t it make more sense for sexually deviant sinners, such as prostitutes to reside in the Lust Ring and more greedy sinners, such as scammers and bank robbers to end up in the Greed Ring? I suppose all sinners would need a special pass to travel to another ring or something without causing any of them to collide. Besides, the lives lost in Pac-Man ought to end up in the Gluttony Ring [40]! [24]

Despite my claim about the Wrath Ring’s sky, I would state that its signature colour is orange due to the orbs of lavas hovering over its volcanos and to avoid confusion with the Pride Ring as its signature colour might as well be red [24]. Since we know that the Greed Ring’s signature colour is green [59] [60], I believe that the Lust Ring’s signature colour would either be blue, purple or indigo [23]. [35]

Aside from how uniquely designed the Wrath Ring is, the visuals and animation are once again dynamic and masterful [35]. The exterior of Stolas’ palace is still detailed and stunningly regal at a different time of day during the present. An example of a great lighting effect would be the beam of red light beaming through the screen of Moxxie’s Hellphone when it rings. The movement of the galloping horse’s feet is intensely frantic, enhancing the introduction of Striker. How fluid and rapid the animation gets in the Pain Games adds to the intensity of demons in Hell competing like athletes, apart from how Stolas’ animation during his first speech looks slightly choppy for some reason, which could be just me. How dark the spare room at Lin and Joe’s house is and how tints of red and Striker’s piercing eyes stand out from it during his brawl against Moxxie make it absolutely terrifying, similar to how the scene when Moxxie gets captured in “Murder Family” looked traumatic with highly similar elements [34]. The detailed cartoony visuals and advanced animation, along with many forms of adult humour are the best selling points of the show, so it would be important to maintain such outstanding quality for more episodes.

Were you expecting the Harvest Moon Festival to be like the Harvest Moon franchise [44]? In your dreams! [35]

The moment Stolas curses the festival with the sight of the full red moon is absolutely mesmerising as the aura of his telekinetic powers surrounds the cosmical view. [35]

I recall declaring “You Will Be Okay” from “Loo Loo Land” my favourite song of the first season back in late 2020 [18] [29] [59] [60]. But what about the new song in “The Harvest Moon Festival” [35]? The victory song sung by Striker once he takes it away sounds rather intimidating yet empowering as a more villainous and self-centred version of “Sweet Victory” from Band Geeks, one of the most memorable and critically acclaimed episodes of Spongebob Squarepants [49]. Yeehaw! I have noticed that all the songs in the series so far are in different music genres. We might as well sort them into:

• “Oh Millie” – Acoustic Ballad [36]
• “You Will Be Okay” – Rock Ballad [10] [18]
• “Vacay To Bonetown” – Pop [17]
• “Teacher’s Song” – Children’s Music [34]
• “Sweet Victory” – Country Rock [35]

The way that each musical number is in a different style of music makes them unique in their own way and appeals to Hazbeans with different musical tastes. What’s next? A death metal song about Stella’s anger towards Stolas’ adultery – Aggretsuko style [35] [45] [59] [60]? That would be wicked! But as previously mentioned, there might as well as a reprise of a song, such as “Oh Millie” and “You Will Be Okay” that feature a new set of lyrics [29].

Striker sings quite powerfully [27]. It was quite deplorable how he insulted Moxxie during his performance though. It is no wonder I ship him with Verosika [64] [65]. [35]

You can see how far Medrano has come since the release of Timber back in 2014 [37]. I can already imagine a second season of Helluva Boss running on the web with more musical numbers and intense adult humour next year, quite like how I imagined a sequel to the broadway musical based on Frozen before the release of Frozen II [70] [71]. As previously stated in the previous double review, publicly labelling a series as “Season 1” would become pointless if there will suddenly be no plans for a second season at all due to them being cancelled [64] [65]. Please do not make the same mistakes that were made in Banjo-Tooie and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc [2] [42]. Oh! And no more unsolved cliffhangers please!! I would recommend making the first season available on DVD after all eight episodes are complete…just in case Medrano’s YouTube channel suddenly gets shut down as YouTube and its terms of service can hardly be trusted these days. Would getting kidnapped by Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel be what I get for reviewing the music video for “Addict” last year [9] [66] [67]? I believe that I will always be a fan of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, whether I am a MobéBud or not [56].

Who knows what quirky remarks Angel Dust would spout next [33]? We are yet to see more of the Pride Ring when the Hazbin Hotel TV series airs. As for Helluva Boss, what will we know about the Gluttony, Sloth, Lust and Envy Rings since sinners from Hazbin Hotel are apparently only allowed in the Pride Ring? Stay sinful, murder professionals! [35]
