Keep Your Heads Up For Deadpool’s Head (Ft. Deadpool)

It has been a while since a certain antihero from Marvel was invited to the adventurous but brutal world of Fortnite to either side with or battle against a Fortnite fighter [16]. While our fellow animal crossers are looking forward to swimming in the ocean and donating sea creatures to the museum in a shortly forthcoming update of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and our fellow bandicoots are excited for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, an upcoming instalment of the Crash Bandicoot franchise that has quite a self-aware title [6] [33], plenty of us Marvel fans who admire the antihero’s charm and wittiness are hoping to get their hands on his head [15] [29] [36] [42]. Wade Wilson, otherwise known as “Deadpool” may have had some conflict with an executive at Disney [45], but a brand new interactive product from Hasbro for mature audiences who either remember playing his video game, watching his movies or both ought to be a whole new delight for them [3] [12] [13]. I am once again not alone in this as the devilishly charming merc will have a few things to say in association with the attention his head has received. I am his little Laurapop after all [52] [53] [56].

“Even though Laura once threatened to decapitate me with a b***h slap [52], she is NOT the cause of this surprise from Hasbro. She’s a pretty pacifist after all [50]. And if you guys thought Tickle Me Elmo was awesome when you were little kids [25] [37], wait until you get a load of this motherf**ker.” [15]

“Do any of you guys remember the time when there was a Deadpool edition of Monopoly? It was a shining example of how I can rely on Hasbro to make pretty good merchandise.” [21]

Let us not confuse Deadpool’s Head with Headpool, an alternative Deadpool from Meet The Deadpool Corps [39] [46]. The way his expressions move is lively and highly convincing, increasing the product’s overall quality [10] [24]. I like how the shape of his eyes changes depending on his mood, along with how his head moves quite energetically to further show realism [15]. It is very impressive how the invention can say over six hundred different phrases to remain faithful to the merc’s talkativeness and unpredictable nature from his comic books, highly acclaimed movies and so on [29] [52] [53] [56]. He also makes remarks when being picked up, held upside-down or shaken, thus showing more technical capabilities [15] [28] [29] [36]. In addition to how he responds to the length of speech [29], you can tell that the artificial intelligence is quite remarkable by how the animatronic comprises reactions to sounds and light [15]. The outstanding movement and voice make Deadpool’s Head an exceptional animatronic [15] [29] [36], quite similar to the ones from the previous eras of Chuck E. Cheese’s and the way he reacts to speech and other sounds makes him similar to a chatbot like Talking Angela’s first app after her debut with Taking Tom before its chat feature was scrapped [17] [34] [35] [37].

“Like Laura said, the head of yours truly is pretty much an animatronic, except far less creepy and more lifelike [17] [37]. Chuck E. Cheese, eat your heart-shaped pizza out.” [15]

“When Laura picks my head up, she ought to hold me close…and call me “Tom Wisniewski” [49] [54]. We all know that she hates 2020 by now, but I will always be around for when she needs some cheering up. She just loves featuring my perspective sometimes [50] [51] [52] [53] [56]. Resistance is futile.” [15]

Along with how the instruction booklet can be folded into a paper hat for the merc’s head to wear [10], there is a free application for smartphones and tablets that can be downloaded onto a smartphone or tablet and provide more interactions with him [23]. The app’s “Make Me Do S***” section offers the user to set up a prank to pull on a roommate or relative [10] [22] [24], which could be showing Ben Phillips how it is done without being too much of a terrible influence for today’s youth [40] [47]. There is also a “Make Me Say S***” section that allows Deadpool’s Head to:

• Provide his own news updates [10] [22] [24]
• Bellow outbursts [10] [22] [24]
• Tell jokes [10] [22] [24]
• Make remarks for bedtime [10] [22] [24]
• Threaten someone in a comedic way [10] [22] [24]
• Insult someone [10] [22] [24]
• Prepare for a selfie with the user [10] [22] [24]
• Make references to food [10] [22] [24]
• Greet someone [10] [22] [24]
• Bid farewell in a few ways [10] [22] [24]

I also like how there is a “Party Mode” for guests at a house party and a “Night Mode” before bedtime [10] [22] [24]. So apparently, the masked rascal developed the app by himself [15], quite like how I developed a prototype of an app to help people who have had a stroke when I was at college [55].

“You bet I did, princess. Remember how I changed the script for my game [3]? Good times.” [23]

“Ummm…I don’t think the sweet little Laura would be very fond of this particular scenario…” [27]

Let us look into what else the app for Deadpool’s Head has to offer [22]. The “More S***” section provides a way to flick tacos, ninja stars or cards upwards and cause the animatronic to react as another sign of ambitious interaction [10] [24]. I suppose that setting up an alarm clock system with him is useful for waking up at the right time, but honestly, that feature would not be for me. Uh oh! You do not want to be tempted into pressing the red button [10] [22] [24]. Who knows what will happen?! I quite like the artistic route the developers of the app went for, providing cartoony images of the crimson comedian in a style that is quite close to his animated appearance in the credits of his first critically acclaimed live-action movie [12] [23] [43]. With quite a large variety of things to do with Deadpool’s Head by the compatibility of an app, the interactive collectable can appeal to plenty of fully-grown Marvel fans with different traits, especially pranksters. Since the service from Deadpool’s app is useful on its own accord [23], quite like the app for Amazon Alexa [2] [5], the iconic virtual assistant from Amazon, I suppose Deadpool’s Head can go on a date with her someday [2].

“Strangely enough, I was thinking the same exact thing! Alexa and my head can have a very special nighttime mode together.” [15]

“Remember Deadpool’s Head owners, do NOT press the red button [10] [24]! If any of you do, a stink bomb could explode at Laura’s house! Don’t make her more p**sed off than she has been all year so far! That’s my job as an alarm clock.” [22]

I am very curious to know who did the fantastic voice acting for the animatronic. I know it was not done by the handsome and talented Ryan Reynolds and the voice does not sound a lot like Nolan North’s Deadpool voice [3] [12] [13] [20], but it is very close to mastering the credibility of both voices for the manly mutate. Even though there has been no clear confirmation of who did the highly convincing voice acting, I can imagine Jesse Castillo, otherwise known as “JayGame” on YouTube starring in a hilarious skit that involves the interactive head as he cosplays as the manly mutate [7] [8]. After all, his Deadpool voice sounds like a fusion of the smoothness of Ryan Reynolds’ voice and the hyperactivity of Will Friedle’s Deadpool voice from Ultimate Spider-Man [12] [13] [18] [20]. Other than that, I think it would be remarkable if the application for mobile devices ought to eventually have an update that can allow the voice of Deadpool’s Head to be changed to the voice of Reynolds or a talented voice actor who can do a highly convincing impression of him [19] [45], similar to how a certain blond temptress’ voice can be changed for the Japanese releases of Catherine: Full Body [4] [9].

“There she goes again [52] [56]. She’s suggesting different voices for me. Seriously, Laura. Lay off whatever drugs you’re on.” [27]

“Eh, who am I kidding? Good old cocaine [13]. Isn’t she precious for letting me break yet another fourth wall?” [27]

The first half of 2020 has been jam-packed with so much conflict, causing so much despair for many of us [1] [11] [14] [27] [53], but there have been many things great that helped keep us going, from Sonic the Hedgehog’s ironically successful live-action movie to the quirkiness and adorableness of My Little Pony: Pony Life [30] [31] [32] [41]. Deadpool’s Head is also another example of how we can continue to benefit our mental well-being for the rest of the year. Since the ambitious interactive toy for fully-grown Marvel fans is simply a talking head like Nick Carlyle from Lollipop Chainsaw [48], I guess I could cosplay as a combination of Juliet Starling from the same game and Vanessa Carlysle from the merc’s live-action movies if I ever own one of the remarkable animatronic heads [12] [13], even though I do not like the sound of chainsaws. Anyone who interacts with him for the first time is apparently Bob Newbie from The Sims [10] [24] [29] [44]. Deadpool’s Head, the adult version of Elmo Live is currently available for pre-ordering and will be marketed between the start of July and the end of August in the United Kingdom [25] [28] [45]. A special thank you goes to the merc with a mouth from Canada for his co-operation once again.

“You’re welcome once again, my little Laurapop. The way you feature my perspective brings out the British in me [51]. You should totally buy a Deadpool’s Head and let it dangle from the back of your belt someday [48]. I’m sure your boyfriend won’t mind. Move over, Barney the Dinosaur! Laura is MY playmate now!” [15]
