Deadpool 3 Is Still In Development. And…?

It has been two months since we last looked through the history of Wade Winston Wilson, otherwise known as “Deadpool” [49]. It has also been a month since he participated in the second season of Fortnite’s second chapter to motivate the fellow Fortnite fighters who are also fans of him [13] [32] [50]. Reportedly, Marvel Studios could be planning to ditch the events of the two feature films based on his legacy [9] [10], thus making Deadpool 3 a sign of an alternative timeline that will officially bring the merc into the Marvel Cinematic Universe [16]. If that theory is coming true, then will there be as much self-awareness as there was at that moment during the beginning of a reboot of My Parents Are Aliens during its eighth season [24]? We know what Deadpool is like with self-awareness. As deeply concerned I am about the coronavirus outbreak causing a lot of fear, self-isolation and cancellations during what was supposed to be a fresh start in a brand new decade [3] [4] [41] [42], I am willing to once again write about a comedic merc in a crimson suit who is currently one of my coping mechanisms and will once again express his ways with words.

“Serenity now, Laura. Serenity now. Wait! Did I just reference a movie about a talking yellow rat [11]? Anyway, your old pal Deadpool’s got you. Just keep washing your hands in moderation and think of me during the coronavirus outbreak and you will be fine [3]. That goes for our dear readers too.” [44]

“Who would have thought I would go from a badass ‘90s supervillain to a skin in a popular video game who sometimes hits on an aspiring writer [32] [49]? I cannot thank her enough for doing a little expansion with me. What? No. Keep your minds out of the gutters…for now.” [13]

I suppose we can take a look at some other versions of Deadpool, besides the ones we previously listed who could be briefly referenced in a line in Deadpool 3 for fans of those interpretations [20] [49]. Another list of alternate versions of Deadpool includes:

• Zenpool [21]
• Dead Man Wade [36] [45]
• Dogpool, a dog version of Deadpool [20] [37]
• Headpool, a Deadpool who is just…a head [20] [36]
• Wolverinepool, a combination of Deadpool and Wolverine [36]
• Fatty Deadpool, an obese Deadpool who can fart like Wario [25] [26] [27] [28] [38]
• Mimepool, Deadpool dressed up as a mime with a colourless suit [38]
• The Amazing Deadpoolio, whose name is…not too creative [1]

I know a version of Deadpool I would love. Perhaps to promote Deadpool 3 near its release date, there could be a Deadpool-themed teddy bear named “Tedpool” that consists of the softness and quality of the teddy bears from Build-A-Bear Workshop [14] [43]. A Tedpool could prevent me from feeling scared and lonely at night.

“Wait! Did Laura say “Tedpool” [14] [43]? What the sh**?! That’s the cutest and most badass idea ever! Laura’s suggestion is not the first time somebody thought of such an adorable concept. I bet Tedpool would love to be snuggled by her…and perhaps a little more than that. I would love to cuddle a Unipool, a unicorn version of me [9].” [48]

“And about my statement on how I’m not so bad no matter which incarnation of me could satisfy a certain need in Laura’s previous article about me [49], how I mentioned Kidpool was to lure paedophiles into nothing but a brutal death trap. Justice was served that week and it sure was fun. It kind of reminded me of that one time I trolled a poor sucker within the same category of scum [18].” [20]

As someone who once wore a Deadpool mask, I would like to look through the variety of outfits the original masked merc wore throughout the years too. A small variety of recognisable outfits wore by Wilson include:

• The Uncanny X-Force uniform [17]
• The Uncanny X-Men uniform [17] [21]
• The black and white suit from the Back in Black series [17]
• The French maid dress over his regular red suit [1] [29]
• The D-Pooly attire from his own video game [1] [29]
• The Bob Ross cosplay [5]
• His pirate outfit from Marvel Heroes [32]
• The pink suit he wore for LetsFCancer.com in association with promoting Deadpool 2 [30]

In the final outcome of Deadpool 3, perhaps another costume from the comics can make an outstanding appearance. Maybe he could wear an apron like the one he wore in one scene from an episode of Marvel Future Avengers [5]. Even though Deadpool 3 is yet to be marketed in 2021 or 2022, I hope that there can be more of Deadpool in 2020 apart from him being featured in the second season of Fortnite because I currently cannot help but feel negatively affected by how the coronavirus outbreak has caused a huge lack of motivation for memorable moments [2].

“Cheer up, Laura honey! I know you have been feeling like sh** lately, but you still have your old pal Deadpool to perk you up during such an isolating time, remember? How about I sing a song for you and the readers or pinch your cheeks [40]?” [44]

“Are you up for fully cosplaying as me eventually, sweetheart? I bet you’d make a great Lady Deadpool [36], despite your dark curly hair. Or better yet, Laura could be a pink Deadpool for a good cause, right guys?” [30]

Aside from several different outfits, the manly mutate has made a few cameos in a cartoon based on X-Men from 1993 and an anime that was also based on X-Men from 2011 [5]. Unfortunately, he did not speak in those cameos at all, but at least they were fun Easter eggs for our fellow Marvel historians. In a special 3D animated short based on the beloved wide range of Funko Pop! Figures released in late 2016 [22], Deadpool runs a chimichanga van, but he then gets attacked by Venom with very limited dialogue. His vocabulary even remains limited to gibberish while he slices Venom’s tentacle with a katana and shows off after the beast eats an unbearably spicy chimichanga. Since an animated Deadpool appeared in the credits of the first film and unfortunately did not speak at all [9], I guess he ought to return in the opening or ending credits of Deadpool 3, but make him spout a few witty lines. He is the merc with a mouth after all. Nevertheless, some funny moment that lack dialogue can be as acceptable as the opening credits of the film based on The Pink Panther from 2006 [34].

“Even though I only speak gibberish as a Funko Pop! Figure, I still look pretty damn cute as one [48].” [22]

“I swear to Marvel! The animation style for when I appear as a cartoon in any of the credit sequences in Deadpool 3 better not be f**king anime [21]!” [5]

Let us look into some of Deadpool’s other love interests and wives, besides Satana Hellstrom and Domino [6] [35]. Does that lady who appeared in an advert for his first movie on Blu-Ray and DVD count [8]? There was that woman who was dangerously obsessed with him in a comic book storyline [19], but at least she was good at making that Deadpool cosplay outfit [7]. Nevertheless, she did not count as Deadpool had no romantic interest in her. Those who do count as his love interests however include:

• Outlaw [6] [35] [39]
• Rouge [1] [39]
• Siryn [35] [39]
• Black Widow [39]
• Carmelita Camacho [35]
• That fangirl from the merc’s video game [1]
• A sock puppet based on Copycat [6]

Speaking of Copycat, remember how Vanessa Carlysle looked very different in the comics [6] [39], compared to her fully human counterpart from the two live-action movies [9] [10] [35]? If Deadpool 3 ought to feature signs of an alternate timeline [16], there ought to be a splendid fusion of the two interpretations of Vanessa, as long as the budget for bringing Copycat’s original appearance into live-action is there for the comic book purists out there. After all, “Vanessa Carlysle” is Copycat’s real name [39]. Getting married sixteen times and having plenty of hookups sure is one heck of a ride for Deadpool [6].

“Two Nesses elegantly blended together for the price of one? I love the way you think, Laura. You made me wanna touch myself tonight.” [21]

“I know how Don Lothario, that womanizing douchebag from The Sims 2 feels when it comes to loving different women [12]. And Simlish is not even one of the alternative languages I can understand [21].” [45]

Apart from many humourous moments with the merc in a red suit throughout the years [21] [45], there was a storyline in the comics that featured him preventing an innocent girl from committing suicide [31]. Despite a few quirky remarks that were quite inconsiderate, you can see his true intentions of trying to save her life and eventually motivate her into staying alive once they arrive at the hospital. As someone who takes suicide very seriously, I admire how his unstable wit and humane side were quite balanced. Some people within the Marvel community believed the portrayal of Deadpool in his own game from 2013 relied too heavily on his vulgarity and wittiness, thus negatively affecting his likeability to a degree [15]. If Deadpool 3 can show that more humane side of the comedic antihero to prove that he can at least try to be a good guy apart from his repulsiveness like how he did in Deadpool 2 [10], those who did not like how he has been simplified with his witty side overshadowing his character development may highly appreciate it for doing so. I admire the concept of a bad guy trying to be a better person as it can be rather relatable [15].

“Laura, sweetheart. You’re too adorable to die young. There’ll be plenty of kindness like how I prevented a gal from jumping off a building to go around [31]. You just gotta wait through all the drama first.” [15]

As always, we recognise Deadpool for being the Bugs Bunny of Marvel because of his wittiness and unpredictability [33]. We will also remember him for:

• His surreal love life [6]
• His fondness of unicorns [9]
• How he has tried to be a better person to receive more respect [15]
• Other reasons I have previously listed [49]

I could tell him not to be naughty, but you know that will not work [46]. Whether Deadpool 3 will disregard the continuity of the two previous films or not [16], I will strongly hope that it can still be another big help in keeping his legacy as unkillable as he is for the new decade. In either 2021 or 2022, perhaps it can beat the record that the film based on the origin of a certain joker from 2019 held for “The Highest-Grossing R-Rated Movie” if it provides outstanding new aspects [47], such as a new introduction to Copycat to show a new audience what she is like and widely expand on Vanessa Carlysle’s character development [6] [39]. I sincerely thank Wade Wilson, the merc with a mouth for featuring his perspective once again as he smashed another wall with a number four painted on it.

“You’re very welcome, my little Laurapop. I’m glad to be one of your coping mechanisms nowadays. After another shoulder massage from your masked saviour, feel free to cuddle up to your boyfriend in bed tonight, along with Tedpool. I’ll do the tucking in.” [44]

“Wait a minute! Sh**! Did I leave the stove on [9]?!” [44]
