Race With Birdo In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass This Spring

The night after Sonic Colours Ultimate became available on Steam [39], I was sure to tune into this year’s Nintendo Direct event after joining a livestream featuring gameplay footage of Deadpool in Marvel’s Midnight Suns as part of its first DLC pack [18] [19] [21]. To my surprise, Birdo, also known as “Birdetta” becoming a playable character in the forthcoming fourth wave of paid DLC in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was revealed alongside the announcements of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon and the physical version of Metroid Prime Remastered being released this March, Fashion Dreamer being released later this year and the two waves of paid DLC for Splatoon 3 being released at different times that could be in the same year [31] [32]. This is great news for those Mario Kart racers who adore Birdo and respectfully see her as Nintendo’s transgender icon but are not fond of Mario Kart Tour’s greediness [1] [7]. Tighten your red bows because we shall steer through the potential of one of the new courses in the fourth wave and predict who else will join the roster later this year as we are still hyped for The Super Mario Bros. Movie coming this April [6] [42] [43] [44].

Speaking of Deadpool and Sonic the Hedgehog, I am not sure how Wade Wilson will react to the portrayal of Wolverine in the fourth episode of the ninth season of Sonic For Hire [11] [12]. Let us keep it clean for discussing Birdo’s return to the tracks in the fourth wave of the Booster Course Pass though! [31]

The brand new course revealed for the Fruit Cup or the Boomerang Cup is based on Yoshi’s Island [31] [32], which makes sense for Birdo to be featured in the trailer for the fourth wave as she was Yoshi’s default partner in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! [25]. In the first three waves of DLC in the Booster Course Pass, my favourite remastered courses from the previous instalments would be Peach Gardens from Mario Kart DS in the Moon Cup, Coconut Mall from Mario Kart Wii and Paris Promenade from Mario Kart Tour in the Golden Dash Cup, Sky-High Sundae and Mushroom Gorge from Mario Kart Wii in the Propeller Cup and London Loop in the Rock Cup [26] [47]. And there is the remaster of Toad’s Circuit in the Golden Dash Cup, which was some Nintendo nerds’ “favourite” track in Mario Kart 7 [9] [10] [22]. In either the Fruit Cup or the Boomerang Cup [47], the new Yoshi’s Island course seems like a nice competitive getaway full of vibrance for all the Nintendo nerds to forget about the troubles they may be having outside of the world of gaming, but I doubt that there will be much tranquillity [31] [32], especially when a Spiny Shell is launched at the racer in the lead [39]. 

As much as I adore racing as my homegirl Princess Peach, I admire the idea of an extended range of cups to compete in. [47]
Considering that there is a big balloon that resembles Yellow Toad in Toad Circuit [22], how about we move on to discussing what other characters could be added to the roster when the fifth and sixth waves come out? [47]

Just like Yoshi and Shy Guy, Birdo will be playable in several colours, including blue, red, and yellow [23] [24] [31] [32]. Could other new some other new racers in the roster when the fifth and sixth waves come out [47]? I still believe Honey Queen from Mario Kart 7 deserves a second chance as she would result in the return of the purple Peach Parasol [22]. The lovely and eventually empowered Pauline ought to become a racer in the main Mario Kart series, considering that she debuted as a racer in Mario Kart Tour and was also given the opportunities to be a golfer and a tennis player [49] [53] [56] [58] [59]. Perhaps Blue Toad and Yellow Toad can be alternate costumes for Toad [28]. All seven of the adorable Sprixie Princesses from Super Mario 3D World can make their debut as racers, but as one character with seven alternate costumes [29] [50]. Why not let Dixie Kong make her debut as a racer as well [8]? As bewildering as it is to see Donkey Kong encounter Mario in his Cat Suit in the latest preview of The Super Mario Bros. Movie [60], it is quite enlightening to see Birdo return to make up for her absence in Mario Kart 8 [23] [24] [31] [32]. 

Pauline is amazing, isn’t she? It would be pretty insane if the roster in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would eventually be as big as the number of racers in Moped Mayhem, one of the unlockable minigames in the Extras Zone from Mario Party 8 [27] [48]…but less is more sometimes. [49]
The green Sprixie Princess was an unlockable player In Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash [50]. Why not let her and the other six princesses be playable in either the fifth or sixth wave of DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe [47]? [50]

And now, back to the racetracks! What brand new courses and remakes of other courses from the previous games could be in the Feather Cup, the Cherry Cup, Acorn Cup and the Spiny Cup [47]? There could be new circuits based on New Donk City, Fossil Falls and Tostarena from Super Mario Odyssey and a circuit based on the enchanting open world of Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild since Link has been part of the Mario Kart 8 roster since the DLC he was part of back in 2015 [14] [23] [51]. There will probably be some more courses that debuted in Mario Kart Tour, including Vancouver Velocity and Los Angeles Laps [15] [17]. The Mario Kart series has come a long way since Super Mario Karton the SNES, so nostalgic courses like Bowser Castle 1 and Koopa Beach 1 ought to be remastered as well [45] [46]. I would love to see gorgeous remasters of Daisy Circuit from the Star Cup in Mario Kart Wii and Peach Circuit from the Mushroom Cup in Mario Kart: Super Circuit [16] [26]. At the moment, there are a lot of possibilities for the final three waves of the Booster Course Pass aside from Birdo racing through the Yoshi’s Island course [47]. 

As thrilling the forthcoming Yoshi’s Island course looks to race around three times [31] [10], there ought to be about two other brand new courses later this year; one in the fifth wave and the other in the sixth wave [47]. [31]
Could a brand new course in either the fifth or sixth course be based on Inkpolis? [32]

The fourth wave of downloadable content from the Booster Course Pass will be open for Mario Kart racers this Spring [31] [32]. Despite the excellence of many Nintendo games, I am aware that the company has never been immune to criticism [41]. Meanwhile, our PlayStation players are hyped for new adventures with the PlayStation VR2 [35] [38], including Garden of the Sea and Townsmen VR [34] [36]. Speaking of hype, my fellow hazbeans who have been disappointed in the second season of Helluva Boss so far can look forward to the official French dub of the first episode of the first season from the wonderfully dedicated Hazbin Hotel French Dub team [3] [5]. No bias against fanmade foreign dubs intended [4]. And speaking of Hell, it is highly likely that Venom will be the next downloadable warrior after he is released from his demonic possession in Marvel’s Midnight Suns [18] [54] [55]. As for Nintendo, could there be a LEGO Wario figure with a new starter course revealed later this year [57]? Will Magolor gain his powers back in a new epilogue in Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe [32]? Until then, fellow gamers. Have a nerdy Valentine’s Day and let your gaming cred shine like Birdo’s diamond ring [2] [27] [37] [60] [61]!

Lastly, what new costumes could any of our beloved friends and frenemies wear after the debut of two Shy Guys as explorers in the Exploration Tour in Mario Kart Tour [13] [30]? Why not feature Peach in her biker outfit with a helmet in a tour for promoting The Super Mario Bros. Movie [44]? Stay rad, Nintendo nerds! [44]
