Deadpool & Wolverine Yet To Spice Up The Marvel Cinematic Universe (Feat. Deadpool)

The first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine became the most viewed film trailer within twenty-fours of all time [122] [123]. Previously, I analysed the teaser with you and Deadpool shortly after tuning into a livestream hosted by Stolas from Helluva Boss in a closet [108] [163]. During the announcements of Pokémon Legends: Z – A, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket and such on this year’s Pokémon Day [139] [140] [141] [142], a version of the trailer was released for the visually impaired folks in the UK [91]. A few days later, a new fashion range from RSVLTS was revealed [15] [24] [119]. Speaking of men’s attire, there is a lot of potential for Deadpool & Wolverine to make up for the irritatingly unconvincing battle between Wolverine and “Deadpool” in X-Men Origins: Wolverine [148]. The main trailer was so worth its hype that it even has its own teaser that was released the very day before its release [89] [115]. As unpredictable and impulsive as he can be, I trust Mr. Wilson with the image captions, considering how charismatic he can be as the host of a Fortnite: Battle Royale tournament [50]. And here is the merc with the mouth once again after I enjoyed my third time at MegaCon in Birmingham [109] [160], had a swell Easter, and witnessed the launch of the seventh season of Disney Speedstorm [166]. Go ahead and wreck that fourth wall during this year’s Taurus season [52] [111], bub!

“You f***ing flatter me, Lauralicious! And Marvel Jesus bless another British lady for narrating the audio-described version of the first trailer [91]! Hello, reader! It is I, Wilson! Wade Wilson! I have returned from the galactic wonders under Rosalina’s dress [19]! Do you feel like you can try to achieve last year’s goals this year that you wasted in 2022 because you felt unprepared and depressed in 2021 due to the struggles in a global pandemic throughout 2020 [77]? That is exactly how I feel about Deadpool & Wolverine, formerly known as “Deadpool 3” [163]! You may recall the spicy content I made for clout during the delays of my forthcoming movie [70]. Looks like I’d better keep my hands off famous sportsmen like David Beckham for this upcoming chapter…and keep my hands on the writer of this article for an analysis that might make up for how underwhelmed some of you were [38], yet it was just a teaser and I am not allowed to reveal everything in one shot [39]. I deeply appreciate some awesome recreations of it though [73].” [25]

“My daddy couldn’t draw feet well at times and made eyes look soulless and creepy [75] [94], but I hope he’s well. I love him dearly and I would love to rest my head on those manly man boobs he drew for Captain America [94]. I also love the Wolvster, but it’s like a love-hate bromance if you know what I mean as I recall slapping the b**ch out of him in my own video game [53]. Speaking of bromances, what is with the Spider-Men looking like rappers from one of those ‘90s music videos in THEIR video game [105] [164] [165]?! The cause those gaudy looks are associated with is a good one though. Parker better watch out as I come for his pickle and steal some of those leftover chocolates for MJ after this analysis [28] [44] [46] [72]. Write away, my little Laurapop!” [135]

Wade Wilson was the champion of the Super-Hero-Bowl and Harley Quinn was the champion of the Super-Villain-Bowl before they kissed in the Super-Showdown-Bowl [4] [5] [6]. But in terms of canon outside of YouTube, how Mr. Pool will progress into part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is vital to him evolution from how he became more heroic in Deadpool 2 [23]. As the title states in ketchup red and mustard yellow, the main highlight of his new progression will be his feud and gradual bond with another comic book star who has a mind-boggling healing factor and will be mentioned a little later [88] [89]. Some could say that letting Deadpool into the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be like letting Sid from the Ice Age films into God of War [34], but there has been a lot of hype for the possibility ever since its confirmation. Will Mr. D To The P come out the victor after his captivity and recruitment, especially within an alliance we are all waiting for [88] [89]? Notable examples of Rob Liefeld’s artwork may not be considered the best in Marvel history but let us continue to wish him the best after his retirement from one of his creations as he strives in his well-deserved threequel [75] [76] [94]. 

“Again, I cannot get over how refreshing my MCU suit is! Just imagine how adorable Princess Peach would look in a red mushroom dress as part of DLC for her video game I cannot congratulate her enough on [35] [100] [171] [172]!! Next you know, Reynolds will attend next year’s Oscars with a Deadpool bow tie [31]! Aren’t I just the sexiest motherf***er to all my fanboys and fangirls [53] [97] [98]?!” [88] 

Of course, the biggest highlight of Deadpool & Wolverine is the return of Wolverine as he will also make a debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe [9] [88] [89] [163]. His MCU appearance in the flesh was teased on drinking cups alongside some bizarrely designed popcorn buckets at this year’s CinemaCon [59] [137]. The bar scene shown at the beginning of the main trailer vaguely reminds me of the reveal trailer for his own video game from Insomniac Games [58] [89]. Later on, Paradox claims that Logan had let down his entire world, which adds up to the possibility of the film being centred on heroism from more than one universe [135], as well as the rivalry between Deadpool & Wolverine that is sure to be a glow up from X-Men Origins: Wolverine as further proved by the samples of the dynamic fighting scenes and dialogue sequences in the trailer [89] [148]. Logan claims to be “no hero”, much like how Wade claimed to be “no hero” in his first box-office success [22] [89], but by now, we know that anti-heroes can win hearts too. As undoubtful as I am towards how Keanu Reeves can pull off the role of Shadow the Hedgehog in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 [57] [136], I am sure that the undoubtfully experienced Hugh Jackman will pull off his role as Wolverine once again in Deadpool & Wolverine in honour of the character’s 50^th anniversary [89] [104].

“HOLY SH**! Look how f***ing intense this shot is! Even though I would love to troll some right-wing douchebags with some so-called “wokeness” [163], I would be a little weirded out if I was portrayed by ‘Lil Wayne [90]. The idea of me facing an interpretation of Logan portrayed by 50 Cent in a rap battle sounds f***ing badass though. You’ve missed out on some Tumblr sexymen during your Tumblr phase [65] [112], Logan! Aside from that, I hope you’re enjoying your 50^th anniversary so far [104]! I’ll make some spare friendship bracelets after the other Laura’s analysis [78]! And look how cute we are as a little Funko Pop! dudes [45]!” [89]

“Oh! And don’t forget about Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII #1, our adventure that will be available to get your nerdy little hands on this May [32] [79] [82] [85]! It’ll boost the hype for the battles between Logan and I in my threequel comic this July even further [89], won’t it? Like I said earlier, I fondly remember b**ch slapping him repeatedly in my video game [53]. Will I need to do it again in Deadpool & Wolverine [89]?” [85]

I have been wondering if Dogpool will appear in the main trailer or not [163]. The canine makes a brief appearance in the main Deadpool’s arms in front of an explosion [89]. As previously mentioned, there is some speculation that Lady Deadpool will be played by either Blake Lively or Taylor Swift [163]. It is also speculated that a few other versions of Deadpool who will appear in Deadpool & Wolverine include the child version of him known as “Kidpool” from the Prelude to Deadpool Corps comics, the zombie head version of him known as “Headpool” from the same series and a new infant version of him known as “Babypool” [87] [150]. Being a Marvel character, Wade would know a thing or two about alternate universes [163]. So do I as I cosplayed a female version of Mario from an alternate universe at this year’s MegaCon in Birmingham [109] [160]! But consistently, the aspects of alternative universes colliding ought to be used sparingly if the focus of the film ought to mostly be on Deadpool and Wolverine being frenemies [11] [89]. Aside from that, they ought to be established quite intrudingly as the purpose of Deadpool & Wolverine is to mark the merc with a mouth’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe aside from his reaction to the Free Guy trailer with Korg [114] [163].

“Awww! Dogpool likes me in this screenshot [89]! I still stand by how Ness forming into a new look based on her comic book counterpart can be a big step up in her character [163], especially if she turns out to be a-okay after the prime conflict is solved. Even if her role in the threequel will not be as big as Morena Baccarin hopes for [135], there can always be an interquel centred on the character during the times after Wade let her go in the future of Marvel movies [163]. As lovely as the pizza parlour in New Club Penguin looked on Valentine’s Day this year [99], Wade and Vanessa’s love for one another is sure to keep flourishing, especially after the prime conflict of the film is solved and he can get back to partying outside of his duties as a mercenary [88] [89]. Who knows when the couple will start a family? And of course, there can be a little wholesome between Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio in honour of lesbian representation aside from Charlie and Vaggie in Hazbin Hotel [23] [88] [89] [110].

“Barbie may not have a vagina, but I know that Ness does [12] [22]. Ken may not have a penis, but my unicorn knows that I do. And yes, he’s just Ken [37] [74]. I may be a pansexual pervert in an open relationship with a stripper, but I know my limits with a lovely biromantic asexual [107]. I may not care how “offensive” I was to SJWs in the 2016 days [22], but I do not care how “woke” I am to the opposite end of the spectrum, especially after getting inspired to shoot bats [146] [147]. I could rely on Laura to write a poem for me and my Copycutie, but I am not entirely sure as I reflect on the poems she wrote about some shark boy in Hell [120] [121].” [89]

Previously, we got the idea of the prime conflict in Deadpool & Wolverine that serves a purpose in the teaser [88] [91] [163]. In the main trailer, we see Cassandra Nova appearing on a staircase to an entrance resembling what appears to be Ant-Man’s helmet and treating herself to a cuppa whilst claiming that boys are “so silly” [2] [89], which must be referring to Wade and Logan’s duel…or some sly remark made by Wade as we know what he is like, especially towards women in his own video game developed by High Moon Studios [53]. She is later seen taking control of Wolverine’s movements as a sign of her being a big involvement in the conflict [89]. As previously mentioned, Paradox claims that Logan let his world down, which could also be a sign of a certain successor eventually stepping in as he refers to him as “this Wolverine” [86] [89]. Aside from some more samples of witty self-awareness when it comes to being a superhero movie star, the manly mutate could either fulfil what Paradox has claimed he has been recruited for or go against it in his own anti-heroic way, especially if he vows to not lose all that he cares about so much [88] [89]. And who knows how effective Cassandra’s involvement will be?

“How sh**ty of these goons to capture me after my birthday at first [88] [163]! But at least you know what I don’t consider sh**ty? Avenging my little Laurapop’s younger self by slaughtering the British teen drama set in a high school that I warned Dopinder not to mention in her presence [155] [156]! After all, I’d love to join the Avengers after my MCU debut, but they may not approve of me burning down a school. Oh well! At least it was something a younger Laurapop had to endure “inspiration” from against her will [162]!“ [88]

“Who will I trigger the most in Deadpool & Wolverine? Yes, I know! “Triggered” jokes aren’t all that funny anymore [16] [36], but I pretty much became a box-office success around the time they sort of were [22]. But as we move on to my debut in the MCU, the fourth wall can always be the set of pins this motherf***ing bowling ball would knock down in a flash! No reference to that speedy guy in a tackier red suit from DC intended [13]. I am Marvel Jesus [163], even though I may not be found in debatable Christian videos on TikTok that Jaclyn Frank would be skeptcial about [40].“ [89]

Would you believe that Blind Al made a Frozen reference when asking for cocaine at the end of the trailer [41] [89], thus making me giggle? Buck, another friend of Wade’s besides Weasel (who may sadly not return in Deadpool & Wolverine due to some serious allegations against T.J. Miller [135]) is seen inserting his katanas into his back harness [89]. It is likely that there will not be much focus on Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and the other folks in Wade’s circle of friendship in Deadpool & Wolverine, but that can ensure plenty of focus on his rivalry with Wolverine, as well as their gradually developing bond [88] [89]. However, it is still speculated that Wade’s love for Vanessa will remain the emotional centre aside from Logan blossoming from his claim to be “no hero” [163]. Moreover, the gathering for a group photo at Wade’s birthday party will later hold some significance when it comes to motivating Logan [89]. The flow of a production may not always be as easy as baking a pie with a loved one [10], the thing I have hoped for the most is the prevention of another accident during the stunts and that seems to be case as there has been no report of another tragic accident causing another death [134], which is a big relief.

“Of course, Lauralicious. Daddy swears that he ensured much better safety regulations for all the awesome stunt folks. This Wade may be an asshole [18], but he is a certain kind of Ken who cares about his fans. He wished everyone who was born on the 29^th of February some extra happy birthdays [145], just like how the kitty on the backpack he often forgets wished a cute Leap Year doggy a happy birthday and another kitty who was a victim of mid-2010s cancel culture wished another doggy a happy birthday on the same day [22] [51] [63] [128] [129] [159]. And course, Ryan wished his fellow co-owner a happy birthday over a week ago [113].” [89]

“Remember, kids! Not all Russians are tyrants like Vladmir Putin [1]! Colossus is pure solid proof of that [22] [23]! Laura and I suspect that he will still spew some goody two-shoes bullsh** in my threequel, which she will strongly approve of. Which Deadpool blanket should I share with him [27]? And remember, kids! 6 + 9 = 69 [96]! And if 2024 has sucked for you so far [47], you can count on the Deadster, especially if you want some popcorn [60]!” [173]

Surely, Loki ought to show up alongside Miss Minutes as Deadpool & Wolverine will serve as not only a sequel to Deadpool 2 but also the second season of Loki [93] [135]. A conflict between Deadpool and Loki in Deadpool & Wolverine could be a vague reminder of the moment when a menacing doppelgänger of the manly mutate was summoned from Earth-617 in the second volume of Deadpool: Samurai [168]. It is confirmed that Laura Kinney, also known as “X-23” will return in the film at some point as part of Logan’s character development, but the role will be played by Natalia Tena instead of Dafne Keen who played it in Logan [135]. Aside from Paradox who sees some potential in Wade during his captivity and recruitment [88], there is some speculation that a TVA (Time Variance Authority) agent will turn out to be Victor Von Doom, also known as “Dr. Doom” [66]. Let us not forget about Chris Evans possibly reprising his role as The Torch [152], along with Owen Wilson reprising his role as Mobius [135]. Aside from how I thank Deadpool dearly for being someone I can turn to during hard times, it would be enlightening to see a few familiar faces in his next cinematic phase [151].

“Ah, good ol’ Loki who…may or not make a sudden appearance during the climax [93] [163]. Some guy’s wife still loves him [143]. I bet someone’s wife loves me, but I’m already engaged to Nessie. I’m planning to book a hotel room for the two of us [43]. As for Miss Minutes, I bet she’ll be as adorable as always [126], just like my little Laurapop who I am glad to be a coping mechanism for! I could take her out for a chizza or something [67] [68] [69]! Damn, what a bizarre but mouth-watering concept for a recipe that I can serve at a theatrical release party!” (Williams, 2024)

Some of our fellow fans of the masked rascal may recall watching Deadpool 2 in IMAX [62]. Since Deadpool & Wolverine will be released for IMAX screens, I feel like there will be a missed opportunity to let it have an exclusive feature, such as a bonus post-credits screen, which worked for the IMAX release of Barbie: The Movie back in September 2023 [161]. Coincidentally enough, reflecting on how Margot Robbie was also one of the producers of the feminist comedy film based on Barbie’s legacy aside from how she nailed the role of the plastic starlet from Mattel [12], Ryan Reynolds is not only reprising his role as the merc with a mouth but also a writer and a producer of his next live-action chapter [33]. Better not confuse Free Guy for The Fall Guy when it comes to admiring an actor whose first name is “Ryan” [114] [149]! Interestingly enough, Deadpool & Wolverine might well be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to be available on the IMAX app on Apple Vision Pro [61]. I am quite curious about the alternative to IMAX known as “Omniplex MAXX” at my local Omniplex Cinemas [102], so chances are that Deadpool & Wolverine or any other forthcoming MCU film will eventually be released for that format [61].

“I remember Laura telling me that a certain moment in Oppenheimer scared the living sh** out of her [103]! Shouldn’t have seen it in IMAX, my sugar nugget! But still, screw you for scaring her, Barbie’s meme partner [162]! On a lighter note, I guess the IMAX release of Deadpool & Wolverine could treat consumers to a cool bonus feature in an alternate universe where Laura’s fiancé goes to work and takes her to places on a moped instead of a car. We’ll have to wait and see if the fans’ socks will be rocked in any universe the movie will be released in. And who knows when there will be another Super Duper Cut [133]? Damn, I’m about to have a nosebleed under my mask, but no bad guys will see that [22], especially in an Omniplex MAXX screening [102]!” [84]

The main trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine has boosted the hype even further to an unbridled level [89]. Chances are that the film could become the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time,, making the merc’s award for “Highest-Grossing R-rated Movie” gold again [170]. He will have to share it with Wolverine though. The film is sure to spice up the MCU a month after Tokyo Disney Resort cools things down with a brand new real-life recreation of Elsa’s ice palace from Frozen [41] [131]. Many of us are also quite curious about a new interpretation of Harley Quinn portrayed by Lady Gaga in Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to Joker that will retell the tainted love story of two villainous circus freaks this October [21] [154] [164] [165], yet I still prefer the former psychiatrist being with Poison Ivy for a reason [20]. But before this, the zaniness of The Amazing Digital Circus shall continue with a new episode this May [48] [49]. A special thanks to Deadpool for wrecking the fourth wall once again. I could go trick or treating with him this Halloween, but I hope that he will not let a child hold a knife or a bomb for him [116] [117] [118] [163]. Nevertheless, I shall not forget to wish him a Happy Canada Day three weeks before the big moment we are still waiting for before the return of the Fantastic Four next year [8] [89] [166], and I thank him once again for his cooperation. 

“My little Laurie-Poo is welcome once again! Just imagine if she was a neurotypical chick and she’d be hardly into me! That would be a travesty! Besides, I would love to give Batman some taco-flavoured kisses [13] [42] [124] [125]. No, I was NOT jealous of him getting kissed by Harley Quinn on the cover of a Valentine’s Day special at all [29]!” [89]

“Despite the MCU being distributed by Disney and how “meh” Madame Web was [163], we shall hold no bias against the Sony side of Marvel movies. Besides, the original Spider-Man movie trilogy starring Bully Maguire (who slayed my ass one time) is a trio of national treasures and it’s pretty odd that the MCU keeps dying [71] [92], then getting revived a movie later, according to the majority of loyal fans’ opinions [132]. It’s kind of like it has a healing factor like mine! You better be good for SantaPool or there’ll be no mistletoe and ASMR treatments for you, reader [17] [95] [153] [157] [158]! Looks like I have some more scumbags on my Naughty list. I hope one of them likes being trolled in Grand Theft Auto V [14]. Until then, my threequel awaits, b**ches [163]! The same goes for Venom’s and I don’t blame him for not wanting to be overshadowed by political toxicity [30]. Strongly Hopeful For The Second Super Mario Bros. Movie in 2026

During my third time at MegaCon in Birmingham, I cosplayed as a female version of Mario from an alternate universe [51]. Nearly two weeks before that delightful Saturday, it was announced that a follow-up to The Super Mario Bros. Movie was announced on this year’s Mario Day by Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri [46] [86]. I have thought about what could be there in a sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie for quite some time [87] [88] [91] [92], especially after seeing a highly promising post-credits scene [79]. I see the full competence of Illumination Entertainment as I was impressed at the outcome of Migration, an animation film about a family of ducks going on a migration for the first time [26]. And yes, we are yet to find out if Gru’s biological son will soften up to him in Despicable Me 4 this July [22]. While LEGO lovers and Fortnite fanatics remain ambitious in LEGO Fortnite [15] [16] [17], the new kids are finally prepared for battle in South Park: Snow Day! [65] [80], and new premium and mini Helluva Boss plushies are available to pre-order [19], let us expand on what can be expected in a follow-up to one of the most successful films of 2023 besides Barbie over two weeks after its announcement [85].

Can you imagine if there was a direct sequel to Super Mario Bros.: Peach-Hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!, also known as “Super Mario Bros.: The Great Mission To Rescue Princess Peach!”, the animated film that was only released in Japan [72]? Next thing, there might as well be a sequel or reboot of the Animal Crossing anime film that can be released worldwide [83] [84]. [72]

We have discussed how a sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie can excel twice [87] [88] [91] [92], but now that we know a follow-up is currently in development [45] [85], let us have a brief recap on what plenty of us have predicted. [69]

Admittedly, Chris Pratt’s skills in voice acting suit Garfield in the upcoming animated film based on the comics by Jim Davis better [63] [64], compared to his performance as Nintendo’s red-hatted hero [79], but what would be more important than how he will reprise the role in the sequel is how effective some expanded character development would be for him in the next Super Mario Bros. movie [87] [88] [91] [92]. Of course, the main highlight of that would be when he rides on a newly hatched Yoshi [79], just like how he would in New Super Mario Bros. Wii [34]. However, more logically as we have only seen the loveable green dinosaur-like being as a hatching egg, we may see him as a Baby Yoshi who will be taken care of by Mario or (Mama) Luigi [33] [82]. Perhaps a few more Baby Yoshis can be discovered to express their abilities, such as a blue one blowing out bubbles and a magenta one inflating like a balloon [33], thus being a lot more useful, in character, and artistically stimulating than Sonic the Hedgehog being inflated in programs like MMD and sandbox games like Garry’s Mod [60] [61] [62]. No offence to those who enjoy creating such images and videos. Mario’s next chapter after proving his worth in The Super Mario Bros. Movie is likely to not only develop a crush on Princess Peach but also begin a new friendship [79] [91] [92].

Aside from a new friendship with a newly hatched Yoshi for Mario as he continues to show his worthiness in Mushroom Kingdom [79], there might as well be a jab at the iconic hilarity of Hotel Mario in the forthcoming sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie to appeal to the old school YouTube Poopers out there [27], considering how many humourous moments there were in the first film [79]. [76]

How big will Yoshi’s appetite be in his cinematic debut [33] [34] [79]? [82]

I still stand by how the recently announced sequel ought to focus a little more on Luigi [91] [92]. I am up for Princess Daisy making an appearance as a new supporting character who can mentor him in the same way Peach mentored Mario in the first film [87] [88] [91] [92], but not in a certain way that would not be recommended for the younger fans (or older fans who seek better character writing) and go against Elsa’s warning about marrying someone who just met [8] [91] [92]. Daisy can be just as self-empowered as Peach, but wittier as a female comic relief [87] [88] [91] [92], quite like Terk from Tarzan, Charlotte La Bouff from The Princess and The Frog, and Anna from Frozen [29], yet there can be some depth on how she became the ruler of Sarasaland to keep the lore faithful to the games [87] [88]. Many of us may miss the year of Luigi [66], but there is still plenty of validation for the green-hatted brother to go around. Moreover, I might as well cosplay as a female version of Luigi from the same alternate universe that the female version of Mario I cosplayed as comes from, especially if I plan to attend MegaCon for the fourth time in the near future [51].

How about a little more focus on Player Two for Movie Number Two? Besides, I hold no ill will against Charlie Day voicing Luigi instead of the eventually retired Charles Martinet either [33] [34] [79]. Besides, the voice acting in The Super Mario Bros. Movie is at least more expressive than the bland and corny but ultimately quotable voice acting in Hotel Mario [76] [79]. [69]

Chances are that Luigi could have a little crush on a cinematic incarnation of another princess from another kingdom [74], as clichéd as that sounds, but there ought to just be a little sign of him being smitten by her as his main priority is to rise from being a captive in the first film [79]. [74]

A poster for the well-deserved sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie might as well feature Princess Peach holding a parasol like the one she glides in the air with in the Super Smash Bros. series and one of the Point exchange items an animal crosser can earn from the Tom Nook Point Tracking System in Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City [31] [59]. I would love to see her white and pink dress from Super Mario Sunshine or her elegant vacation outfit from Super Mario Odyssey return on the big screen [38] [39], but what would be more important in terms of further character depth would be providing some backstory on how she and Bowser first met and a very one-sided romance bloomed [87] [88]. Perhaps if there will be a third film set to be marketed and released in 2029, the year that will honour Barbie’s 70^th anniversary or a year later to mark the Super Mario series’ 45^th anniversary [91] [92], there can be a new focus on Peach with some elements from Princess Peach Showtime!, the latest installation of the Super Mario franchise that has shown how far the iconic princess of Mushroom Kingdom has come since her debut in 1985 as a rehash of her ability to shed that “damsel-in-distress” skin that was proven in Super Princess Peach [35] [40] [42] [43] [44] [47], along with the appearance of Rosalina and her Lumas if there were to be some aspects of the Super Mario Galaxy duology [36] [37]. 

Alternatively, Peach’s parasol in a new Super Mario Bros. movie taking place after the events of the high-grossing masterpiece can be in a new film-exclusive design [14]. Aside from that, the slogan on this poster of her reminds me of the inspirational motto from the modern Barbie series known as “You Can Be Anything” [3] [4] [69]. [69]

There still could be some room in the sequel to provide some further depth for Donkey Kong and his father Cranky Kong [87] [88] [91] [92], especially in association with a flashback scene that is a direct reference to the 1981 classic known as “Donkey Kong” and its sequel known as “Donkey Kong Jr.” [32] [68], along with a more effective supporting role for Diddy Kong in the present. There is also potential to establish a spin-off film based on the Donkey Kong Country games that can be considered miles better than the animated series that originally ran from 1997 to 2000 [54] [55] [67]. On second thought, a spin-off centred on the Kong tribe could be a television series instead as six episodes of Knuckles on Paramount+ could be considered an effective expansion of the live-action incarnation of Knuckles the Echidna, especially as its own thing next month [89]. Aside from the potential to squeeze in some more depth for the incarnation of Donkey Kong voiced by Seth Rogan alongside an event based on any of the sports-themed spin-off games, such as the Mario Tennis series in a follow-up to The Super Mario Bros. Movie [71] [79], would you believe that it has been nearly a year since the reveal of a bunch of LEGO sets based on Donkey Kong and the gang [86]?

The year that the sequel of the movie is set to be released will also mark the 45^th anniversary of your dad’s debut, big guy [32] [45]! [69]

Of course, there is some speculation that there will be new antagonists in the sequel to spice things up. Two notable examples are Wario who might as well become Wario-Man at some point as a shout-out to the WarioWare series and Waluigi who can be his partner-in-crime as they compete against Mario and Luigi in an event based on the Mario Party series [73] [91] [92]. If Bowser were to strike back as the main protagonist, leading to the possibility of another hit song by Jack Black [75], Bowser Jr. ought to set him free possibly disguised as Shadow Mario from Super Mario Sunshine [38]. Why not let the Koopalings star in the sequel as well [34]? [70]

There is some speculation that the next big project from Illumination Entertainment licenced by Nintendo will not be necessarily a direct sequel, but more like a spin-off centred on a specific spin-off series [5] [49], quite like how a follow-up to Barbie: The Movie ought to be centred on Ken finding his own identity without the need to bring on a toxic patriarchy [90] [93]. Moreover, as I suspect that the next film will be focused more on Luigi, the possibility of the next film being more like a spin-off film can result in him becoming more courageous in a new interpretation of Luigi’s Mansion, much to Charlie Day’s interest [91] [92]. However, it is vital to not let the post-credits scene of the first film go to waste as there ought to be plenty of moments of Mario or (Mama) Luigi bonding with Yoshi [33] [82]. In the meantime, I shall root for an eventually and deservingly redeemed Misty Brightdawn to be part of a mystery to solve in My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery this May [18] [46]. But as proactive as we can be when it comes to forthcoming continuations, it is vital to ensure that working environments remain safe and healthy, especially after some horrific incidents get exposed [7] [28] [48] [58]. While vowing to be better, we can still nurture our mental well-beings as The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be back in cinemas this June [85].

I am so proud of my homegirl Princess Peach for starring in her second own game [42] [43] [44] [47]. Speaking of lovable blonde-haired princesses, I thank the lovely and talented Erika Henningsen, the voice of Charlie Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel for the thoughtful message I received from her and my fiancé for my birthday [20] [52] [53]. Moreover, I am happy to state that I can still consider myself a loyal Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss fan as much as I still consider myself a fan of the Super Mario franchise, especially after getting a “HELL YEAH!!!” from a Lucifer Morningstar cosplayer at MegaCon in Birmingham [25] [52] [53] [89]. [42]

Whether the next Super Mario Bros. film will be a direct sequel or more like a spin-off film focused more on Luigi featuring many aspects of the Luigi’s Mansion games [91] [92], there is hope that it will be established as more than just another big dose of financial gain [79]. As important as it is to acknowledge passion alongside money-making, it is vital to encourage equal opportunities…and not be afraid to let those who dare to stoop lows face the consequences yet remain rational when it comes to standing with justice [6] [9] [57]. [69]

Six Episodes Of Knuckles Coming To Paramount+ Next Month (Ft. Tom Wisniewski)

Tom: When the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie first came out in 2020 [67], I enjoyed it very much. Then there was a sequel two years later, which I found to be even better than the first [68], largely thanks to the addition of fan favourite characters Tails and Knuckles, the latter being the main focus of this new series [35] [71].

Laura: Just before the sixth season of Disney Speedstorm began live and the 1000th performance of Frozen: The Musical in London was marked [7] [13] [93], the trailer for Knuckles appeared on social media like a power-up from an item box [35]. Not only did Sonic the Hedgehog 2 re-establish a brotherhood between a blue hedgehog and a two-tailed fox that gamers first witnessed back in 1992 [51] [68], but it also reimagined a familiar progression of a red echidna. After my fiancé and I were wowed by the third season of Sonic Prime on Netflix [29], we are curious about the cinematic interpretation of Knuckles the Echidna on a path to self-discovery after the events of an ironically successful film adaptation’s well-deserved sequel and before the next chapter co-starring a familiar antihero who is my fiancé’s favourite character in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise [35] [36] [68]. It has been a month since the trailer’s launch and the hype’s spawning, so as Mr. Krabs continues to show how a greedy restaurant owner can fight as the newest brawler in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 [14], let us suspect some further empowerment of another red guy. No, not THAT red guy from Cow & Chicken and I Am Weasel who was previously known as “The Devil” [4] [5]! Moreover, we can express some hopes for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 being an exceptional threequel after we express our thoughts on the outcome of Deadpool & Wolverine [42] [87].

Happy 30th Anniversary to the red echidna [9]! Gotta love there is red lightning for the logo [35]! After wishing the best of luck to the inklings and octolings in the Fresh Season in Splatoon 3 [31], let us discuss the full potential of Knuckles’ new beginning [35], even though I still consider myself more of a hazbean than a Sonic fan these days [27] [37] [39] [75], especially after being crowned a worthy poet in Chazville by Eric Schwartz [44], yet there are still a lot of aggravations against the Hellaverse here and there [1]. [35]

Considering how strong Knuckles is and how impactful the idea of him having his own spin-off series to bring him back to his roots after the reduction to a comic relief in the Sonic Boom universe [35] [57] [61], it is no wonder there are two editions of a statue of him from First4Figures in his cinematic look that become available to pre-order shortly after the release of the trailer [35] [55]. [55]

Tom: I wasn’t sure what to think when I first heard Idris Elba would be voicing Knuckles, but he ended up being a great casting choice, giving Knuckles that tough, no-nonsense kind of attitude, whilst also maintaining his rather dim nature (fitting for a character who’s way more brawn than brain) [35] [68]. 

Laura: Despite residing in Green Hill, a town on Earth, Knuckles still seems locked to the honour of being a tribal warrior from Mobius, even when it does not seem necessary [35]. Nonetheless, he still vows to be noble within some new character progression. The hat he wears when steering a motorcycle is a reference to the one he wore in the two parts of an original video animation that was quite infamous for its edginess [3] [71]. I sense some “epic finale vibes” from the moment his fists are lit in a fire-like aura [35], quite like Sonic being fully charged to send Robotnik to the Mushroom Planet near the end of the first film [67]. And do not forget about the moment of him flying with his new trainee on his back, which is quite assuming to see [35]. Quite like how “Beach” Ken deserves to be redeemed even further in his own spin-off of Barbie: The Movie [84], Knuckles the Echidna deserves some further character development in his series taking place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 [35] [71]. Moreover, Knuckles ought to be written like it can be its own thing, considering its nature as a spin-off series [35] [71], which is what I strongly believe Stolas from Helluva Boss deserves as he has the potential to flourish into an even better character in his own spin-off series [27] [37] [91] [92].

But before our Sonic supporters witness Knuckles’ new chapter [35], our Nintendo nerds will finally get to witness Princess Peach in a variety of dashing outfits in her second own game in under a week, including a mermaid costume that lets her sing like Ariel from The Little Mermaid and a thief’s attire that provides a little inspiration from Sly Cooper who is like an older version of Sonic in terms of having a charming personality [7] [30] [74] [93]. I am so proud of my homegirl! And how proud of a certain comic relief will the fierce red echidna be [35]?

Tom: The series also looks to be focusing more on Wade, Tom’s less confident work colleague from the films [35] [67] [68]. He and Knuckles look like they could be partners in the same way Sonic and Tom were in the films, and I can see the two working well off each other, though Wade might not be prepared for how much roughness Knuckles will undoubtedly thrust upon him.

Laura: Yes, indeed. It looks like there will be some character progression for Wade Whipple, one of the comic reliefs besides Rachel, Tom Wachowski’s sister-in-law [67] [68]. Another Wade can make jokes in Deadpool & Wolverine this July [42] [87], but Knuckles proves that he will make warriors instead by how he unhesitantly bends the handle of a dumbbell later this Spring [35]. I can see how Knuckles and Wade’s friendship will not be too similar to Sonic and Tom’s [67] [68], which is a sign of a certain type of character progression not being recycled. Aside from how interesting it would be to see Wade’s new friendship with Knuckles provide some character depth in Knuckles, I would love to see some more sass from Rachel at some point in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as I consider her the funniest human character in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise [36] [68]. Imagine if Princess Elise was that witty if Sonic ’06 was much more light-hearted [48] [50]! Even though Cars 2 and Planet Sheen are notable examples of the main focus on a comic relief character not turning out so effective [43], I am sure that Wade can pull off a bigger role as a sidekick and trainee for Knuckles if it is managed carefully before the next chapter co-starring a familiar antihero who is my fiancé’s favourite character in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise [35] [36].

Chances are a bigger focus on a comic relief character in forthcoming continuations will not make the same mistakes some others made with that formula [43]. I also wonder if any new human allies with turn out to be LGBTQ+ allies if the cinematic universe continues after Knuckles and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Oops! I just sounded “woke” [19]! Oh well. [35]

So, Wade needs to rescue himself at some point [35]? That is what Princess Peach eventually learned to do in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and I am proud of her for that [77]. [35]

Oh, dearie me! It looks like Maddie does not approve of Knuckles building a tribal fortress in the house [35]. There might be something like that at IKEA though [21]. I also do not blame her for her bewilderment at the mailman being Ozzie’s challenger [35]. Let us not forget about the blue speedster who expresses the relief of finally being able to unwind, along with the intelligent two-tailed fox who is always his competent sidekick and like a brother to him. Chances are that they will only make a minor appearance though, consider how Knuckles will be the first Sonic the Hedgehog television series to not feature Sonic’s name [71]. You do not suppose that he will make a jab at that, like how Daxter did regarding Jak 3 [78], no? As previously mentioned, Rachel is utterly brilliant and I would love to see more of her sass after the overall critical reception of Knuckles [35] [68]. But aside from her comical sass, she deserves another wedding that will hopefully not be crashed and turn out to be a set-up by G.U.N. in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 [36] [68]. But of course, not all humans would get along with a mobian…

And I thought Garfield was brutal against postmen [76]! [35]

Of course, the spotlight will be back on the blue blur but shared with his antiheroic counterpart in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 [36]. [35]

Tom: We also seem to be introduced to new villains, one of whom worked for Robotnik and is after Knuckles power for his new creation [35]. We don’t know what it is yet, but it would be cool if it was Egg-Robo, which would be a nice nod to the bosses Knuckles fights in Sonic 3 & Knuckles [46] [63]. I also found it funny when one of the villains tried to make a nod to Knuckles “Do I look like I need your power?” line, but it just didn’t work in the same context [35].

Laura: It turns out that the new human antagonists are after Knuckles’ power as strands of his quills are stored in capsules [35], just like how Dr. Robotnik was after Sonic’s power in the first film [67]. As faithful as a recycled plot point can be for the sake of keeping world-building consistent, it is still vital to add something fairly new to it to keep a continuation engaging. Chances are that Shadow the Hedgehog will be confrontational towards humans in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 [36], just like how he was in Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog [45] [47]. However, it has been confirmed that Maria Robotnik will appear in Sonic the Hedgehog 3as a faithful aspect of his character regarding his backstory [45] [47] [64], but before the ultimate lifeform can promise Maria revenge, the red echidna is sure to be a new kind of hero…without resulting in a confrontational musical number [35] [62]. As sweet and adorable as the Valentine’s Day Chocolaterie event in Hello Kitty World II was [17], Knuckles’ determination to keep his power safe from a bunch of new antagonists will lead to some intensity within the action [35]. After all, there is no yang without the yin.

See how sheds of Knuckles’ quills are used to power these antagonists’ suits [35]? And speaking of quite an important plot element in a different colour, can you imagine Stella from Helluva Boss owning her own grimoire in a Persian red and rose gold palette [24] [25] [26]? That would be another reason why she and Stolas were arranged to wed other than to produce an heir, despite Stolas claiming their offspring being the only reason for their unhappy marriage [27]. [35]

There can also be a little sourness aside from sweetness as lemon desserts are served at Hello Kitty Grand Café in Irvine, California for a limited time [18]. And speaking of food and beverage services, I wonder if Mean Bean Coffee Café will have a new owner if Agent Stone does not come out of his disguise as a G.U.N. soldier [33] [68]? [69]

What else is there to discuss? Gotta love how the artwork on the back of the sign that spins as Knuckles dashes past it can be classified as a reference to his classic appearance [35] [46] [63]. For about a second, we catch a glimpse of another echidna known as “Pachacamac” [35], leading to some curiosity about his overall portrayal and notable change of heart after his appearance in a flashback scene in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 [68] [72], as small as his role seems to be in Knuckles [35]. Speaking of small roles, there could be some depth into Wade’s relationships with his mother Wanda and his sister Wendy [71]. How they are related to Pete Whipple, the man who appears to be a casino host as a sign of a scene being a big shout-out to Casino Night Zone is to be revealed in the episode(s) he will appear in [35] [51] [73]. There is also a giant robot who grasps Knuckles with its tentacle-like arm during a fighting scene, which is another sign of Robotnik’s former colleague being as skilled in machinery as he is [35] [67] [68]. Knuckles could be another coherent bonus chapter squeezed into the timeline after Sonic Drone Home [70].

Do you think the Sonic movie franchise will continue if Sonic the Hedgehog 3 becomes a box-office success [36]? As sure as I am that an actress by the likes of Ana De Armas, Emma Stone or Morena Baccarin can pull off the role of a brunette “Stereotypical” Barbie in a new chapter of Barbie Land [85] [86], I am sure there would be a lot of competence put into an interpretation of Amy Rose for some adorable female empowerment if there will be a fourth film simply titled “Sonic the Hedgehog 4” [47] [48] [50]. The ultimate life form might not wear a sakura jersey after his reimagined origin [54], but if it is pulled out effectively, it can result in the appearances of more mobians in live-action, such as Amy Rose and Rouge the Bat [47]. But for this Spring, Knuckles ought to serve as its own thing aside from being a bonus chapter in Sonic’s cinematic universe. [35]

Tom: The series will be six episodes long; however, each episode is said to be an hour in length, making this the Sonic show with the longest episodes [71]. I’m hoping that the episodes don’t drag and are able to keep the momentum to justify the run time, but I do have my concerns on that front as you could probably watch five episodes of Sonic Boom in the time it takes to watch just one episode of Knuckles [57] [58] [59] [60] [61].

When this series comes out next month [35] [45], I will indeed take it upon myself to watch it in preparation for the third Sonic movie later this year [36]. I hope this show will be fun (which probably isn’t a tall task, given how entertaining Knuckles usually is), but I also hope it doesn’t rely too much on setup for the upcoming movie and focuses on being its own thing. If all goes well, and the show and movie end up being successful, then this could truly be the year of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, just like it was thirty years ago [9] [46] [63].

Laura: Watching all six episodes centred on Knuckles’ further character progression on Paramount+ this April is sure to get us warmed up for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on the big screen this December, possibly making the 30^th anniversary of Sonic 3 And Knuckles more awesome [9] [63]. Aside from a new origin for Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, there will be an unexplored perspective of his to be explored in Sonic x Shadow Generations, a remaster of Sonic Generations [52]. Another cinematic experience that awaits us in late 2024 is Moana 2, a rather unexpected sequel to…you guessed it! Moana [23] [80]! A sequel to one of Disney’s highlights of 2016 and a big crossover sensation in Fortnite after three adventures with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles could help Disney somehow rise from its partial financial loss [11] [12] [90], quite like how Sonic and Detective Pikachu’s live-action adventures helped the efforts put into a live-action movie based on a video game franchise rise from mediocrity [6] [67] [68]. It sucks that the Sly Cooper movie has been permanently postponed due to the financial failure of the Ratchet & Movie [8] [79], but at least there will be more of Knuckles before a new origin for Shadow [35] [36] [68]. Aside from a huge crossover phenomenon with Angry Birds [66], 2024 might turn out to be another excellent year for the blue speedster that has been way past cool since 1991 [49].

As Minecrafters continue to express their creativity and Fortnite fighters continue to rock on in Fortnite Festival [40] [41] [88] [89], plenty of Sonic supporters are yearning to see more of Knuckles’ new life in Green Hills before Riley expresses new feelings at the age of thirteen in Inside Out 2 [38]. You and I can treasure the awesomeness of a decade ago [12] [94], but as time goes forward and not backwards, some things can be worth cherishing in the near future. Until then, let us continue to be kind to one another [2] [34]. [35]

Barbie: The Movie – Achieving More With Potential To Bloom A Sequel

According to that episode of the third season of South Park that featured a direct parody of Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace [94], I needed a heart valve operation [82]. If it was not for said operation, I would not be here to reflect on the success of Barbie: The Movie once again as more awards are won [12] [15] [16] [17] [18]. I know that a lot of possibilities on how a sequel possibly titled “Barbie 2” or a spin-off centred on Ken discovering his own identity titled after him have been explained already [108] [121], but I believe there can be a few more possible elements to elaborate on [21]. 2024 marks the 65th anniversary of the Barbie franchise [6] [10] [93], [96] as well as Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary and it was the plastic starlet’s birthday not too long ago [41] [42] [92]. During the run of the second season of Monster High on Nickelodeon and the fun of the second season of the fifth chapter of Fortnite: Battle Royale [38] [71], let us list more of the achievements earned by Greta Gerwig’s feminist phenomenon and squeeze in a few more possibilities on how a follow-up can provide some significance in a few years’ time, preferably after the establishment of a Broadway musical adaptation [110] [112].

Looking at this design reminds me of the doll that was designed and manufactured in honour of Barbie’s 60^thanniversary, which was celebrated in 2019 [6] [58] [106]. And yes, many others were dressed amazingly at the Oscars too [81]. Speaking of Robbie’s fashionability, Barbie: The World Tour will be released next week [60]! It could be as if Barbie never left Barbie Land [7]! [60]

Even more achievements earned by members of the creative team listed one by one on social media include: 

• The Zeitgeist Award from this year’s Casting Society Aritos Awards [16]
• Two Guild Of Music Supervisors awards [12]
• The Maxwell Weinberg Award for Motion Picture Publicity Campaign [17] [45]
• The Academy Award for Best Original Song (that was also performed at the ceremony [30]) [18]
• The Costume Designers Guild Award for Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film [15]

Again, I hardly give a darn about how “rigged” award ceremonies seem as people are simply entitled to their own opinions [109], even though there could be some deceitfulness underneath a layer of hard work as Nefera De Nile was stripped from her previous fearleading championship awards after being exposed for cheating near the end of the second part of “Monster Mashionals”, the thirty-sixth episode of the second volume of Monster Highwebisodes from the franchise’s first generation [69]. Ultimately, we can still declare our own winners without hassling anyone for their own nominations and tossing the term “rigged” around in an irrational manner [109]. There are a few more entertainment award ceremonies to come later this year, including the Olivier Awards and the 76^th Writers Guild Awards this April [74] [122], so let us stay tuned!

Oppenheimer, Barbie’s meme partner has been successful at the 96^th Annual Oscars, also known as the “Academy Awards”, earning seven awards [27] [75], including the award for Best Director given to Christopher Nolan [76], the award for Best Actor handed to Cillian Murphy and the award for Best Supporting Actor earned by Robert Downey Jr. [20] [37] [77] [78]. [75]

Ryan Gosling was not only just Ken but a natural as he performed “Just Ken” in a dashing hot pink outfit at this year’s Oscars [4] [24] [29] [102]. I cannot say that it is as quirkily memorable as JOHN CENA presenting the award for Best Costume Design in his birthday suit though [1] [52]. But in all seriousness, if only there could be more open-mindedness and respect towards animated films at the Oscars these days as characters from award-winning animated films have made special appearances in many annuals [35] [87]. At least there was some kindness at this year’s ceremony as there was some aid for Liza Koshy right after she slipped on the red carpet [34]. [49]

Chances are that “Stereotypical” Barbie is aroace, meaning that she is both asexual and aromantic due to her lack of interest in having a relationship with “Beach” Ken [7] [31]. There could be some evidence to support that theory in a direct sequel or spin-off as she makes the most of her new life as a human, especially if Ken vows to find his own identity whilst crushing on a new Barbie in Barbie Land. As appreciative as many hazbeans are towards Alastor, the charming radio demon from Hazbin Hotel being asexual [63], that seems to be, unfortunately, overshadowed by his villainous side and the controversy surrounding voodoo symbols associated with his demonic abilities [46] [63] [85] [86] [113] [114]. I still stand by my theory that Blitzo from Helluva Boss is aromantic due to his lack of romantic interest aside from his promiscuity as we hazbeans know that he is pansexual [43] [55] [65] [117] [118], just like Deadpool, another antihero [111]. Asexual, aromantic and aroace representation is as important as homosexual and transgender representation, so perhaps Barbra Handler’s new life can provide some more hints of her possible asexuality and aromaticism for some passable representation [3]. To quote Kelly, an icon from old-school YouTube, no booty calls [95]!

Aside from more signs of Barbie being aroace, even as a human in the real world [3] [7] [31], I would be touched to see some further depth for Gloria in a direct sequel or spin-off as she showed signs of depression and suicidality before she met Barbie and gave her speech in Barbie Land in the film [7] [50]. Besides, those matters should not be taken lightly. [14]

About two months ago, it was revealed that Sharon Stone proposed the idea of a live-action Barbie movie at some point in the 1990s [36] [84], the time when Mattel’s plastic icon starred in some short-lived comic book series from Marvel [57]. If you think about it, a live-action Barbiemovie developed in the 1990s would have been drastically different (and notably corny or cheesy to a certain extent, especially if it had not been written effectively) [7]. Perhaps a follow-up to Greta Gerwig’s billion-dollar success can feature Stone as a supporting actress or a co-writer to make up for the unfair ridicule she received for her failed pitch at the time after a few agreements [21] [36] [48] [84]. Aside from a new princess castle in Barbie Land that could be an all-pink equivalent of the exterior of the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast attraction that is based on the Beast’s castle from one of Disney’s most beloved animated classics in the Fantasyland expansion of Tokyo Disneyland [39] [98] [100], getting Sharon Stone involved in a direct sequel to Barbie: The Movie, a spin-off film centred on Ken or a television series expanding on the glamour of Barbie Land can help her shrug off the rejection of her pitch for a live-action Barbie movie in the 1990s [36] [84], a decade many of us miss like crazy nonetheless [123]. 

Can you imagine living in an alternate universe when the idea of a live-action Barbie movie was accepted and established in the mid-1990s, there was an expansion pack for The Sims 2 titled “The Sims 2 Castaway” in the late 2000s and the iconic McDonald’s emblem is primarily teal, just like the one seen in Sedona, Arizona in this universe [33] [44] [66] [97] [107]? [90]

As we applaud this year’s winners and nominees [5], let us continue to value the strengths and ambitions of women in this world [62]. After all, Barbie’s birthday is the day after International Women’s Day…or in a metalhead’s case in Birmingham, International Women’s Slay [40] [89] [103]. Furthermore, the development of a new Super Mario film that is likely to be a sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie was announced on this year’s Mario Day [23] [25] [54] [73], the same day as this year’s Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom [22], along with the broadcast of the 96^th Annual Oscars and the day after Barbie’s birthday, which leads to some speculation of Princess Peach remaining self-empowered and Princess Daisy being Luigi’s mentor [115] [116] [119] [120]. It will not be long until the launch of the highly anticipated Princess Peach Showtime! for our Nintendo nerds who have adored Peach for as long as they can remember the day before another awesome weekend at MegaCon in Birmingham [61] [72] [80]. And speaking of blonde-haired princesses, do not forget to also with Disney’s iconic incarnation of Sleeping Beauty a sweeter 65^th as well [109]! Be sure to embrace some Barbiecore if you plan to attend Barbie: The Movie in Concert this Summer [8] [13]. Oh! And have you checked out the stylish collaboration between Barbie and Kipling yet [50]?

Despite the mixed to negative reception of the musical reboot of Mean Girls based on the stage musical adaptation of the original movie from 2004 [68] [110], the mean ghouls ought to watch their backs and two plumbers ought to watch theirs as their cinematic universe is set to expand in April 2026 [69] [73] [67]. Who knows when Barbie Land will be expanded and Ken will find his own identity [21], even with a new love interest [108], resulting in another adorable batch of Funko Pop! figures [79]? Perhaps a new brunette “Stereotypical” Barbie in a blue dress can be played by Emma Stone who won the Oscar for “Best Actress” this year and they could be the most enriching couple since Malcolm Landgraab IV and Dina Caliente in The Sims 2, according to some of my fellow simmers [26] [28] [88] [108]. But alas, plenty of us prefer a prequel centred on the creation of Barbie Land or just not see a continuation established at all [53] [56]. In the meantime, let us continue to celebrate the plastic starlet’s 65^th anniversary and feel free to try demonicas’ 2000s girls’ quiz during the short wait for the Monster High edition of UNO [32] [70]. Especially after tuning into some girl power in Princess Peach Showtime! the day after the edition’s release [72] [80], feel free to re-experience The Super Mario Bros. Barbie: The Movie – Overachieving Outstandingly As A Feminist Phenomenon

2024 marks the 65th anniversary of Sleeping Beauty [150], but let us hope that Merryweather, one of the good fairies will not make all the pink things in Barbie Land blue, especially during its corruption into Kendom [62] [120]. Pinky from the MySims series would love that though [65] [102]! It is quite impactful to reflect on how I have gone from playing Detective Barbie In the Mystery of the Carnival Caper at my grandparents’ house to reflecting on the overwhelming success of the live-action film about Mattel’s plastic icon having an existential crisis [91] [143]. The film would have been entirely different if it had been distributed by Universal Pictures or Sony and released at some point in the 2010s…or if it came out in 2007 [50] [84] [151]. Choosing between Barbie and Oppenheimer in Summer 2023 was quite like an image of two lines of toys in McDonald’s Happy Meals; one aimed at boys and the other aimed at girls I would see as a child back in the day [67] [86] [92] [118] [154]. However, since perspectives change from time to time and exposures eventually get revealed, some successes could turn out to bedeceitful [80] [85] [121] [127]. But as for Barbie: The Movie and a few other amazing films that excelled in 2023, I believe that the awards they achieved were quite deserved to some extent [2], even though some aspects of their developments were not all that peachy [55]. 

Yes, even the awards Waterloo Road achieved throughout the years seem deserved to some extent [142], despite how I was experiencing some “inspiration” from the series against my will when I was about fifteen years old [140]. A British version of Mean Girls would be quite amusing though [57]. Even more achievements earned by the creative crew of Barbie: The Movie include the Golden Globe Award for “Best Original Song” [24], an Academy Award nomination for “Best Original Song” and the Society Of Composers & Lyricists Award for “Outstanding Original Song” [26] [45], which is no wonder why some of us suspect that it could be adapted into a stage musical possibly before a direct chronological follow-up in a few years’ time [143] [145]. Do not forget to show admiration for animated films that are worthy of winning awards too [2] [8]! [27]

The plot of the film was parodied in an advert for the 96th Annual Oscars that will air an hour earlier on ABC on the 10th of March [81]. It stars Jimmy Kimmel who gets lost on the way to Oscarsland, a direct parody of Barbie Land focused on the nominees for a range of achievement titles, including Poor Things. Weird Barbie becomes his guide after asking what kind of “Ken” he is in a rather infatuated manner. As the duo arrive at Carnegie Hall in the weird wagon after a colourful montage of bizarre landscapes that reference other successful films in 2023 besides Barbie: The Movie, most notably Oppenheimer [106], America Ferrera gives a parody of Gloria’s speech on how difficult it can be being a woman in society centred on being a host for the Oscars [18] [81]. With Kenough Kenergy, Ryan Gosling pops up from the back seats of the weird wagon as a callback to Ken surprising Barbie on the way to the real world. Aside from Barbie: The Movie getting nominated for eight awards at the upcoming 96th Annual Oscars [1], the advert is still a brilliant spoof that highlighted Weird Barbie’s comedic nature and so on with some creative elements [81]. 

Kimmel sure had a wild ride with Weird Barbie [81]. Some of you may recall other forms of creativity associated with these award ceremonies, such Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story franchise presenting the award for “Best Animated Short” at the 72nd Annual Oscars in 2000 and the main cast of South Park making special guest appearances at the 19th and Last-Ever Annual Cable Ace Awards to present the award for “Best Talk Show Series” in 1997 [53] [108] [123] [152]. Barbie: The Movie can always be nominated for rose gold Oscars resembling a woman known as “Octavias”, “Oksanas” or “Odessas” in Barbie Land [110] [131]. [81]

2024 also marks the 60th anniversary of the debut of Allan, Ken’s buddy [10]. You do not suspect that a marmot is calling out this name [46], no? Some of my fellow 2000s kids may recall him as Midge’s husband and Ryan’s father in the Happy Family line [145]. Again, if Barbie: The Movie is “anti-male propaganda”, then how come Allan Pilgrim got sick of the patriarchal takeover and helped Barbie, Gloria and Sasha restore the essences of girl power in Barbie Land [34] [137]? I still believe he can be an empathetic ally of “Beach” Ken who can find his own identity in a spin-off series or sequel though [151]. In the meantime, his classic doll form from 1964 is available to pre-order [10]. I am glad that the film gave Allan a lot more attention [18], especially before the 60th anniversary of his debut in the Barbie franchise [10]. Call me crazy, but in a sequel or a threequel, perhaps he can be employed as a police officer alongside a new Barbie referred to as “Officer Barbie” in Barbie Land tracking down a criminal in Barbie Land but let us save our hopes for a faithfully fresh follow-up film for next year or two [49] [151]. 

In the meantime, Allan can remain a great reality dating show host and a therapist for the Kens [11]. And let us not forget to wish the Strawberry Shortcake franchise a happy 45th anniversary and Cadbury a happy 200th anniversary too [54] [125]! [10]

Can you imagine Barbie Land expanding with some pink castles like Craigievar Castle, one of the magnificent historical castles in Scotland [61] [103]? I think there ought to be more pink essences in Barbie Land [5] [36], such as a new car in a coat of hot pink, the colour of the hype for the film in production that also became a Summer fashion trend in 2022 [70] [73] [130] [138]. Oh! And do not forget some lovely shades and tints of purple, including lilac and lavender. Aside from a few princes, princesses and mermaids in Barbie Land [21] [23] [35] [51], there could also be an enchanted forest where Fairy Barbies reside and cast magic spells [48] [82] [101]. But wait! What if one of the Fairy Barbies…could turn anything pink into blue [62] [120]?! There can still be some elements of Kendom as Stephen Colbert has been knighted by Ryan Gosling for having plenty of Kenergy [128]. As grateful as I was for no longer feeling imprisoned in some Waterloo Road wannabe [140], I would be delighted to see more of Barbie Land if the movie evolves into its own franchise that should hopefully not seem “milked to death” and “a cash cow”, but simply create new opportunities for characters and new elements of creativity [151]. Again, let us save our wishes for a great sequel for its official announcement.

Barbie Land could also be expanded with not only stables for the horses during the Kendom takeover and new unicorns for Horse Rider Barbies to ride but various things coated in rose gold…or pink gold if you like to race as Pink Gold Peach in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe [22] [104] [105]. After all, the movie received five BAFTA nominations, including “Best Production Design” [28], despite another snub [132]. In the meantime, those who strolled through Ken Street in Toronto nearly a year ago can reflect on that [139]. And if a Barbie prefers light blue or teal over pink [20], she can rock some stylish pumps styled after Hatsune Miku from Mayla because of Barbie doll logic [18] [93] [94] [95]. Could a Princess Barbie be named “Amelia” [16] [17]? [139]

Despite my bitterness towards Waterloo Road [140], I can cut the third, fourth and fifth series some slack for portraying an autistic student pretty well [141]. I would be delighted to see an autistic human who recalls being infatuated with Barbie dolls in a sequel or threequel to Barbie: The Movie, as long as the big mistakes that were made in Music will not be made again [79]. Yet again, we will just have to wait and see in a few years’ time [151]. [141]

Barbie: The Movie deserves its success for its creativity and depth [27] [28] [31] [33] [37] [40] [76]. But still, a sequel centred on Ken will come in handy for sorting out the problem its political satire unintentionally caused [135]. Moreover, there can be more effective and rational ways to discuss sexism than some examples I have witnessed [52]. And yes, there could perhaps be a threequel to Barbie: The Movie after a sequel centred on Ken excels in fixing what was considered “misandristic propaganda” and helping him find his own identity [25], much like how there could be a threequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie after its well-deserved sequel does well with an honourable portrayal of Yoshi and so on [147] [148] [150]. Speaking of threequels, there is a lot of hype for Deadpool & Wolverine that can be accelerated by the release of Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII in May [63] [88] [89] [144]. In the meantime, be sure to check out some new Harley Quinn Funko! Pop figures that are currently available to pre-order [71] [113], along with a twin pack with Poison Ivy that was released before Valentine’s Day in honour of what can be considered my favourite ship in DC history and feel free to state your thoughts on the animated film titled “Barbie And Stacie To The Rescue” coming to Netflix a week before my birthday this March [12] [72]. Good luck back in reality [35], even if it makes me want to shriek and yank your hair out sometimes.

It would be funny if Stella and her brother Andrealphus from Helluva Boss argued over which colour a dress for Octavia on her eighteenth birthday should be; pink or blue [99] [112] [120]. Moxxine sure loves hot pink but considers a softer tint of pink “basic” [98]. At least a lighter shade always makes the sakura falls in Japan so heavenly in the Spring [109]. Near this year’s Spring, there will be a Barbiemania at Electric Ballroom in London next Saturday and a “Mother Sunday” screening of Barbie: The Movie alongside a Pink Party Bar at Bristol Aquarium just before the 96th Annual Oscars ceremony airs [64] [66] [81]. As for me, I shall look forward to the rest of the second season of Helluva Boss throughout the rest of 2024 after this year’s steamy Valentine’s Day-themed merchandise sales [97] [124] [144]. [64]

It is undeniable how revolutionary Barbie has been for sixty-five years [145]. As for her live-action cinematic hit and other movies that were released in 2023, let us be good sports about snubs at award ceremonies and not blatantly throw the term “rigged” around like sore losers [133] [134]. Besides, I may be an iPhone user, but I hold no bias against Samsung phones [69] [78] [136]. Until then, some ASMR from the friendly fuzzy pink monster named “Cosmo” might be up your alley if you are currently feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders [58] [59] [60]. Moreover, keep the Barbie and Ken ASMR vibes coming, ASMR artists [6] [60] [74] [83]! Lastly, beyond the prettiness of Barbie Land, there will be crystal creations in a new stuff pack for The Sims 4 the day after next week [129]. Imagine if Fauna made Aurora’s dress about as green as an inspired plumbob [62] [65] [120] [129]! Oh!
